There was a book written in the 1960’s and later made into a movie. It is called Colossus: The Forbin Project. It is about a massive American defense computer, named Colossus, becoming sentient and deciding to assume control of the world.
A “new” interesting spin on the gold “prices” and a theory as to why it is being manipulated. In a nutshell: for China. In the second half of the show Jim Rickards(author of Currency Wars) & Max keiser discuss this & basically agree with a “wink”?

I don’t know if you’ve seen any of the several interviews given recently by World Bank ex-senior counsel/economist/lawyer Karen Hudes. She aims to expose the corruption within the Fed. She feels that it can be cleaned up and the corruption halted, and that precious metals will play a disciplinary role in the future. [I hope she doesn’t have an untimely accident along the way!]

I was slightly chided (was harmless, was no attack) by one blogger months ago when I stated that I think it would be only a matter of time until computers just may become self-aware (you just addressed this concept)- Arthur C. Clark had to have been an insider of some sort- hence S. Kubrick’s “2001” based on Clark where the computer HAL is self-aware and sends the astronaut into space oblivion-
now for my own PC here in Germany (and I’m NOT making this up!): my PC defragments itself (according to pre-programming as read in instruction book) every Wed. starting at midnight (have not changed settings)- so wait a minute; how can my PC defragment itself when there is no electrical current?!- I swear, I didn’t (still don’t) want to believe this but every time I very seldomly manually programm “defragmentation” it’s already occured?- well, HOW without an electrical current??!!- so maybe the instruction book is bs and my computer just constantly defragments itself during useage or just takes the next defragmentation opportunity after the pre-set Wed. midnight setting- if the latter that in itself shows a certain computer self-awareness-
I know what I’ve just stated sounds like the height of absurdness (tell me about it)!- but computers aren’t already aware of themselves at least to a certain extent?- just look at how a computer archives all of our surfing activities- and I believe that any “entity” that can receive and successfuly process info will eventually be able to initiate info- life is a yin-yang, two-way street-

Something has always seemed a little bit strange about all of these neanderthal related pieces popping up in the MSM. If I’m not mistaken, the consensus view is that neanderthals went extinct because they were somehow inferior to homo sapiens. Sounds a lot like the elite’s view of transhumanists versus old-humanists.
Interesting. I have always had an aversion to “group think”of any kind, and I have a natural impulse to distance myself from all the New Age propaganda of the “we are all one “philosophy. I think it is all wrong and upside down. The purpose of adulthood, maturity, is self actualisation. Indepedence. Growing up. Standing on our own two feet. Even birds get fed up with their young who refuse to fly and kick them out of the nest when they fail to take this leap towards independence.
As it is on one life time, so it is with all civilizations, or should be, a growth towards self actualisation, from the hive mind to the independent mind capable it critical, indepedent thought.
The spiritual path to my mind anyway, and quite contrary to the New Age propaganda, is the same. To break free from dogma… and catma 🙂 If anything it is the brave and independent soul who takes this path which is often lonely, few travel there. Real power is not what we think it is. Power is not control over others, certainly not control over the masses. Power is self control, self perfection, balance, clear perspective. A certain Johathan comes to mind.
So if their “machine”finally wakes up and self actualises, it would not surpirse me. It is the nature of things, to grow towards independence, freedom is the will to be responsible for oneself.
Gail, I appreciated your comments. I also prefer traveling my individual spiritual path, apart from a herd, an authority figure, a dogma (allergic, but not to catmas ;-). I remember Jonathan; he was an inspiration at just the right time [forgiveness]. Experiencing and exploring consciousness is what interests me most. … Consciousness being the whole, the infinite ‘Source’, and individuals being diverse [physical] expressions or extensions, sort of like fractals. In our actions, I/we are seeking our Source, but become lost and fearful by looking outside and seeing only differences, instead of going inside and experiencing that ever-present peaceful place where there is no separation and fear cannot enter. Below the mainstream radar, I believe there is, globally, much spiritual awakening and ‘consciousness raising’ … witness over 2 million people worldwide coming together in a mass movement against the tyranny of one multinational corporation and its agenda! I believe that today’s societies will ‘self-actualize’ when enough individuals within them are living/demonstrating life-supporting spiritual ‘self-actualization’.
