    Japan is too civilized.
    Reminds me in non sequitur way of the Asimov quote on intelligence/… an accident of evolution, and not necessarily an advantage.

    I don’t know how a constructive dialogue aimed at Islam is going to take place when people who do so are murdered.

      that seems the point. personal experience with japanese friends bears this out. work with what’s agreed upon only. there will be plenty to disagree about later. it’s only considerate.

    Wasn’t there the case of a Japanese translator of Salmun Rusdie “Satanic Verses” who was assassinated in Japan. And do you think the Japanese are not following the problems China and Russia are having with their Muslim populations they want no part of these problems.
