I had to chuckle at this one; it seems the public is now making commercials for all the convenience and health benefits of GMO foods, including this for FOODPRONTO, the problem here being not only the health benefits, but the fact that it no longer even looks like food. Notably, the list of health effects does NOT include the odd mention of extra body parts in the video... … [Read more...]
GMOs, MON(STER)SANTO, AND BRICS: BANS, SLAVERY, AND LAWSUITS, PART TWO: HUNGARY SAYS NO TO MON(STER)SANTO
I've been trying to follow the increasing pressure developing throughout the world against GMO foods in general, and more particularly, the corrupt mercantilist business practices that American "agribusiness" has sponsored in its revolving door between corporate personnel and federal agency staffers. In that respect, I've reported on the growing list of countries in Europe and elsewhere that, on the basis of various scientific studies, are either partially or completely rejecting America's "agricultural" products as harmful to the health and well-being of their citizenry. It began with … [Read more...]
AMERIKAN HIGH COURT TO DECIDE PATENTABILITY OF HUMAN GENES
We called it here first folks. In Genes, Giants, Monsters and Men, and again in Transhumanism: A Grimoire of Alchemical Agendas with co-author Scott de Hart, I have argued that one consequence of the for-the-moment successful corporate bid by such foul entities as Mon(ster)santo to patent their genetically modified organisms is that this would act as a precedent for similar arguments regarding genetic modifications involving the human genome: tinker with it but a little, and that particular tinkered-with sequence becomes a patentable object. Or at least, that's what will apparently be … [Read more...]
KENYA JOINS THE GROWING LIST OF COUNTRIES BANNING GMO FOODS AND CROPS
I've spent many blogs on this site covering the growing opposition to GMO crops and foods, including some time on the recently "defeated" California Proposition 37, which would have required labeling of GMO foods. Some countries have passed total bans, others, predominantly in Europe, partial ones. Now the African nation of Kenya has joined this growing list: Kenya bans importation of GMO foods What is apparent in Kenya is what is apparent in most other countries initiating such full or partial bans: "Public Health minister Beth Mugo subsequently directed all Public Health Officers at … [Read more...]
TIDBIT: UPDATE FROM JOHN RAPPAPORT ON PROPOSITION 37
John Rappaport has followed up his previous posts about the suspiciously early call on California's Proposition 37 on labeling GMO food with yet another article, and the longer the story goes, the murkier it gets: PROP 37 VOTE FRAUD UPDATE: 3.3 MILLION VOTES STILL UNCOUNTED … [Read more...]
CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 37 FAILED? OR WAS MADE TO FAIL?
There were a number of state ballot initiatives around the country during the last presidential (s)election, including initiatives for the recreational use of marijuana, and in some states, measures to nullify the Federal law of mandated health insurance purchase under "Obamacare." These types of initiatives only reflect the growing disenchantment around the country with increasing encroachments of federal power on individual liberty, and it is a movement that, in my opinion, is only going to grow, as more and more Americans wake up to the fact that the Supreme Court is not the final arbiter … [Read more...]
MON(STER)SANTO GOOSESTEPS ON: PART TWO
Yesterday I blogged about the incredible recalcitrance of the French and Russians, daring to maintain there are dangers in GMO food and, in Russia's case, actually banning it from the country. (Oh, I can hear it now on See BS News, on CNN(See No News), or Faux News: "there goes that neo-Stalinist crypto-communist authoritarian hardliner Putin again, standing in the way of democracy and capitalism"). It's just another case of the French and Russians being difficult as usual, right? Wrong. Consider this one (and again, a whole bunch of you emailed me this one: many thanks!): Shock … [Read more...]
BRAVE NEW (MEDICAL) WORLD
A couple of days ago I awarded the very first Kammler-DARPA prize to the idea of a medical microchip to monitor whether or not we're all being good boys and girls and taking our medicine and eating our peas. There I argued that such an idea has already probably been conceptually expanded by the likes of agencies such as DARPA and big pharmaceutical companies like Muck, possibly in conjunction with the FPA (Food and Poison Administration) and GMO foods conglomerates like Duponzanto. Medical fascism arrived in this country long ago, but the new toy box promises virtually unlimited new vistas for … [Read more...]
