HILLARY THREATENS RUSSIA AND CHINA

Remember that geopolitical-economic realignment I've been talking about in the past few months? Well, apparently, the light bulb went on - well, it probably just flickered - in Hillary Rodham Clinton's cackling head. Here's an interesting article about her comments regarding the Chinese and Russian cores of that realignment at a recent summit meeting called "Friends of Syria": Clinton threatens Russia and China at “Friends of Syria” Meeting. Now, first off, we can immediately deduce a "law of 21st century geopolitics" from this article, and from the elite behavior: Law of Reverse … [Read more...]

CHINA, ARGENTINA, AND GEOPOLITICAL REALIGNMENT, PART TWO: THE “NATO” PERSPECTIVE

I put "NATO" in quotation marks because, as this little blog hopefully will show, NATO has transformed itself into the mechanism of maintaining Western power, and increasing that power over areas of the globe not originally a part of the conception which led to its formation. Let's recall what those two principle reasons were: (1) to present a united economic and military coalition against the forces of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw pact. It will be recalled that Mr. Gorbachev, during the period of the Soviet Union's and Warsaw pact's collapse, elicited a promise from the West that NATO … [Read more...]

INDIA SEEKS US TECHNOLOGY TO TRACK COUNTERFEITS

As most of you know, I've been following the alleged counterfeit bearer bond story for some time now, since at the minimum it indicates that there is at least a major market for such things, and major players behind their manufacture. But there's another side to this counterfeiting story, and that is the state- or other organization-sponsored counterfeiting of currency, which seems, in India's case, to have reached serious proportions: India looks at the US to check fake currency notes The U.S., as the article notes, has a massive database of counterfeit notes - including photographs - … [Read more...]

GOLD, BEARER BONDS, AUDITS, SPECULATIONS, AND REALLY WILD SPECULATIONS PART TWO

Joseph comments in this series of vidblogs  about the following articles, various scenarios out there including the "White Dragon" scenario, and offers his own wild speculations: Germany to Review Bundesbank Gold Reserves in Frankfurt, Paris, London and New York Fed Lawsuit in India to get their Gold back from The Bank of England and the Bank for International Settlements Indian central bank challenged in court to repatriate country's gold Switzerland Wants Its Gold Back From The New York Fed … [Read more...]

THE NEW ARMS RACE: LASERS

DARPA is at it again folks (or, really, do they ever quit?). According to this article, the USA is set to acquire a new prototype laser weapons system, capable of being fit onto a flatbed truck, for operational defense against aircraft, missiles, even mortar rounds: DARPA Unveils Drone-Slaying War Laser One notable thing about this article however, and that is its insistence that atmospheric distortion limits the operationally effective range of lasers, and that, of course, is true. This was indeed one of the primary public criticisms of President Ronald Reagan's Strategic Defense … [Read more...]

IRAN, AND THORIUM

I am grateful to Mr. V.T. for bringing this important post of Gerald Celente to my attention, and it speaks volumes for itself, not only in terms of the prospects that he mentions, but also in terms of its political and geopolitical implications: How Iran Can Have Nuclear Power and the World Can Have Peace It is true that thorium is being pursued by China, Japan, Brazil and India as a reliable reactor fuel alternative to uranium. Celente's proposal is reasonable...and that's the problem, for by pointing out the thorium alternative, Celente is in fact pointing out the danger that everyone … [Read more...]

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO, “HMMM….”: INDIA AND THE DOLLAR

I've noted in recent blogs that there is a quiet move afoot away from the dollar as a reserve currency. Already China and Russia have concluded bilateral talks to avoid the dollar as a reserve currency and make their currencies directly convertible. Japan and China recently concluded a similar agreement. Now, India has joined the ranks of the burgeoning Asian economies to do so: India Joins Asian Dollar Exclusion Zone, Will Transact With Iran In Rupees [LunaticOutPost - Forum] India Joins Asian Dollar Exclusion Zone, Will Transact With Iran In Rupees The central importance here is the … [Read more...]

APOCALYPSE THEATER: A NEW MISSILE POWER EMERGES: ISRAEL

Here's one for the history books... and it's from those ever-so-reliable journalists at Komsomolskaya Pravda: Israel launches new missile that can reach New York and Tokyo Here, for once, I am inclined to trust Pravda since the article is based on other sources, but it is interesting that it was Pravda that connected the dots in an unusual way, namely, by pointing out (1) the missile, in service since 2008, has a reputed range of being able to strike targets such as New York and Tokyo (and ergo, India, China, and most of Russia); (2) It is capable of carrying a 750 kiloton warhead … [Read more...]

BRICS NATIONS IN TROUBLE? DISAGREEMENTS WITH THE DAILY BELL

I've talked quite a bit in some of these blogs about the BRICS nations - Brazil, Russia, India, and China - as being the up-and-coming economic and geopolitical bloc. Well, not so fast, says the Daily Bell: BRICs Begin to Crumble? The article is, of course, correct, as far as it goes. It is true that the Chinese economy suffers from all the problems of planned economies in general, there are empty cities, skyscrapers, and shoddy constructions. It is true that Brazil and India suffer from the same problems of central banking as the USA and the rest of the West. But I am bold to suggest … [Read more...]
