I had to laugh when I ran across this one at phys.org, a site I respect for its consistent rationality. Well, we all have our hiccups from time to time, and it appears that phys.org just had a hiccup...or maybe, something else is going on. Phys.org is reporting something very significant: Shooting for the moon -- to mine it I hope you caught the central story here, one very possibly explaining the sudden interest of the various world space powers in going to the Moon. Speaking of the Moon, I have in front of me a rather provocative book, by Luca Scatamburlo, called Apollo 20: The Disclosure: Moon: A Joint US and Soviet Space Mission on the Dark Side? thought this was interesting, given the fact that the last flight of the space shuttle is occurring as I write this: Plans to strip mine the moon may soon be more than just science-fiction From the sounds of the article one would think that the Moon was to be mined primarily for its large quantities of helium-3. Let's add into that equation tons of heavy metals and....possible artifacts.
