LUNAR AIR AND THE DUTCH EAST MARS COMPANY

Here's some articles that are rather fun - or, rather disturbing, but we'll get to that in a moment - beginning with this one from those ever-so-reliable folks at Komsomolskaya Pravda: Artificial air to be created in lunar atmosphere for moon colonists Now let's pause briefly and consider those last comments: "Astrophysicists were racking their brains over the lunar ionosphere for 40 years. Only recently, Tim Stubbs of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center Goddard, put forward a surprising hypothesis: the lunar ionosphere is created from moondust! According to Stubbs, the astronauts of … [Read more...]

SOVIET REPORTS OF WATER ON THE MOON IGNORED BY WEST

I had to laugh when I ran across this one at phys.org, a site I respect for its consistent rationality. Well, we all have our hiccups from time to time, and it appears that phys.org just had a hiccup...or maybe, something else is going on. We'll get to the "something else" in a minute, but anyway, here's the article: Soviet find of water on the Moon in the 1970s ignored by the West The Soviets, just to refresh everybody's memory, were indeed saying a lot of strange things back during the "space-race" days, things like..."Gee, the Moon is an awfully big satellite to be where it is, doing … [Read more...]

PRIVATE COMPANY FOUNDED TO MINE THE MOON

Phys.org is reporting something very significant: Shooting for the moon -- to mine it I hope you caught the central story here, one very possibly explaining the sudden interest  of the various world space powers in going to the Moon. Naveen Jain, the founder of the company Moon Express, Inc., whose purpose is to robotically mine the Moon, puts it country simple: "The MoonEx project came about because we started thinking: There are a tremendous amount of resources that are available on the moon, and the moon has never been explored from the perspective of an entrepreneur. Every 6 … [Read more...]

NEWS AND VIEWS FROM THE NEFARIUM SEPT 16, 2011

Joseph talks about two important news stories, Ron Paul's closing gap on President B.O., according to a little-if-never-mentioned Gallup poll, and NASA's new "recommendations" for Lunar No-Fly Zones. Here's the links Joseph discusses in the News and Views: Rick Perry\'s Star begins to fade Moon to have no-fly zone by month\'s end … [Read more...]

SPEAKING OF THE MOON….

Speaking of the Moon, I have in front of me a rather provocative book, by Luca Scatamburlo, called Apollo 20: The Disclosure: Moon: A Joint US and Soviet Space Mission on the Dark Side? The thesis of the book may be boiled down to the following: "The goal of these two p[resumed secret joint space mission(sic), result of an American-Soviet collaboration, was to reach the backside of the Moon (the Delporte-Izsak region, close to the well-known Tsiolkovsky crater) and to explore a huge object found out during the Apollo 15 mission. What the Apollo 20 crew found, it was a huge and ancient alien … [Read more...]

MINING THE MOON’S ANOMALIES

thought this was interesting, given the fact that the last flight of the space shuttle is occurring as I write this: Plans to strip mine the moon may soon be more than just science-fiction From the sounds of the article one would think that the Moon was to be mined primarily for its large quantities of helium-3. Let's add into that equation tons of heavy metals and....possible artifacts.  I mention this because the article points out a fact known to people following space matters, and that is the long-term corporatization of space, as corporations take over more and more of the actual … [Read more...]
