DARPA is at it again folks (or, really, do they ever quit?). A recent article in Vanity Fair magazine about George Lucas' newest installment in the Indiana Jones series of movies, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULLS, presents some tantalizing information about the eagerly awaited continuation of the famous Indiana Jones character, a somewhat scruffy archaeologist. According to the Vanity Fair article, part of the movie is shot on a set evoking images and thoughts of Area 51, and its shoot location - Deming, New Mexico - evoke similar thoughts of Roswell. A reader of my books and visitor to this site recently shared an article with me. It seems General Fusion has come up with a novel idea to achieve controlled fusion reactions without the need for multi-million dollar Tokamaks and all the other financial gigantism that characterizes government-funded and big corporation-backed fusion research. In an article on their website, General Fusion says it will "build a ~3 meter diameter spherical tank filled with liquid metal (lead-lithium mixture)."
