Well now it's official, sort of: there was indeed ionospheric heating more or less directly over the epicenter of the Japan earthquake, according to this article from MIT:

Now, unless we're positing a hitherto unknown natural phenomenon, then there really is only one explanation by the principle of parsimony that works: ionospheric heaters... like, HAARP, the the one Russia has, like the one Europe (i.e., Germany) has, like the one that even Japan has, but we can rule them out.
