This article was brought to my attention by Mr. V.T., and it's worth passing along, because it illustrates something profoundly disturbing: the growing, if not already gargantuan, size of America's special forces and their now global extent and reach, thanks to the "war on terror". Don't get me wrong here; I'm not one of those who thinks there are no terrorists, no terrorist threats, nor that nations do not have the right to defend themselves against it.

But consider the sheer scale of what is represented in this article, versus the scale of the actual threat:

America’s Black-Ops Blackout Unraveling the Secrets of the Military’s Secret Military

There's so much that disturbs here that I barely know where to begin. But perhaps here is best:

"I started with a blank map that quickly turned into a global pincushion.  It didn’t take long before every continent but Antarctica was bristling with markers indicating special operations forces’ missions, deployments, and interactions with foreign military forces in 2012-2013.  With that, the true size and scope of the U.S. military’s secret military began to come into focus.  It was, to say the least, vast.

"In the post-9/11 era, the command has grown steadily.  With about 33,000 personnel in 2001, it is reportedly on track to reach 72,000 in 2014.  (About half this number are called, in the jargon of the trade, “badged operators” — SEALs, Rangers, Special Operations Aviators, Green Berets — while the rest are support personnel.)  Funding for the command has also jumped exponentially as SOCOM’s baseline budget tripled from $2.3 billion to $6.9 billion between 2001 and 2013.  If you add in supplemental funding, it had actually more than quadrupled to $10.4 billion."

In other words, the "special forces" of the USA are no longer merely "special forces," they've grown into a kind of full-blown Waffen-SS. But notice that this represents a known quantity, from publicly available sources, and budgetary information. Thus, when one factors in that "slush fund" created under President Truman, and totally hidden financing of covert operations, one could conceivably be looking at the tip of a very large iceberg here. Even on its public face, however, one is left pondering the central question: why the need for such a vast special operations network? Surely this cannot be justified solely in terms of the "war on terror." Some other strategic calculation, unknown to us, seems to be at work here; we're observing - if I may twist a theological phrase vastly out of context - the outward and visible signs of an inward and hidden mass, a strategic consideration.

But there is something else that enters the picture here, perhaps shedding a bit of light on what that hidden consideration might be, and it's another puzzling statement, huge with implications:

"This year, Special Operations Command has plans to make major inroads into yet another country — the United States.  The establishment of SOCNORTH in 2014, according to the command, is intended to help 'defend North America by outpacing all threats, maintaining faith with our people, and supporting them in their times of greatest need.'  Under the auspices of U.S. Northern Command, SOCNORTH will have responsibility for the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and portions of the Caribbean."

One wonders what really lies behind this curiously worded mission brief, and exactly what is meant by "all threats", and why it should be necessary to "maintain faith with our people" and what times of "greatest need" it is privy to. The words, I submit, might best be taken in the context of the "retrenchment" scenario - involving  the deliberate push of 3D printing and the equally deliberate expansion of energy production - that I have blogged about previously on this site. It is an unpalatable fact of the implications of dispersed manufacturing that 3d printing to some extent heralds, that one of these implications is a military one: dispersed manufacturing presents less of a target, and modular production techniques can be used to assemble complex weapons systems far from the place(s) of their manufacture.

The global extension of SOCOM itself invites further high octane speculation: what possible threat is being addressed by such global extension? Are we looking at yet another example of run-amok American "unipolarism"? Or are we looking at something else? the fact that, while sparse, there are even SOCOM pins stuck into the heart of Russia and of China would suggest that it may be "something else."

Whatever that "something else" may be, and I am hard pressed to consider that it is just terrorism, one can only guess and speculate. But whatever else it may be, this is a subtle and quiet story - along with the allied special forces of other nations - that bears watching.

See you on the flip side.

Not that the recent noises about reforming the NSA and our government’s secrecy policies are going to amount to much, but… here’s a good quote Marianne Williamson posted on Facebook today. Apparently it’s from Teddy Roosevelt:
“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today.”

    • Robert Barricklow on January 24, 2014 at 12:24 pm

      That’s a great quote!!!
If only it were, in point of fact: practiced.

    • Margaret on January 24, 2014 at 11:22 pm

Thanks for that quote … and that’s why she’s campaigning as an independent candidate for Congress in California. In her announcement speech she denounced the present political/corporate/economic system as being fear-based and sociopathic and called for a more wholistic, from the heart humanitarian direction. We need more courageous voices like hers. Brava, Marianne Williamson and Godspeed in your mission.

    • basta on January 25, 2014 at 3:24 am

Wow! An actual, fully functional human being is running for Congress? Indeed Godspeed to Marianne Williamson and thank you for bringing her to our attention, may she have every success!

A leopard does not change it’s spots. The military Industrial Complex that Eisenhower warned about:

with domination of land, sea and air, the history of the past 60 years, Vietnam, South America , The Middle East, now Africa and now the USA itself becoming a militarized state here is one of many examples :

The Corporate Fascist Military Junta intends to rule the world, and those who are not “For “them are “Against ” them as Bush said, and like Saddam, Gadaaffi and now Asaad will be dealt with accordingly, here is another example:

Any “Aliens”will be conjured up in true Hollywood style to fool the masses along with the Main Stream Media brainwashing, many on the controlled opposition Älternate”media being carefully placed as gatekeepers.

The lies and deception used to achieve this “Fourth Reich” or as Hilterary refers to it, the “Regime”that will rule for as long as anyone can imagine,

have already played out and will so even more in the future, 9/11 is just a brief blimp in the full spectrum of horrors committed, false flags on larger scales have and will continue. Democracy died long ago. The evidence is staring you in the face. This is Hitler on steriods. Only this time it is truly Full Spectrum dominance.

Re: “The Corporate Fascist Military Junta intends to rule the world, and those who are not “For “them are “Against ” them as Bush said”

George Lucas stated it best in Star Wars when Obi-Wan said to Anakin: “Only the Sith deal in absolutes”

The Bush clan and their cronies are NAZI Sith Lords, or maybe they just like to think they are. 😉 It’s time to kick these pieces of foreskin off our beautiful planet. Maybe we should all concentrate at the same time on sending them to the ‘outer darkness’ or the pit of Tartaros where they can be amongst their own kind. I’m getting really sick of the atrocities they perpetrate upon our home-world. We could also concentrate on thwarting their actions at every turn so they and their actions are exposed to everyone.

I believe the true evil – even behind the Bush clan & the NAZI’s – are the Jesuits. All Jesuits are trained to murder by multiple means.

Here’s a little background on these pieces of ______ .

This link is a bit biased as it is from a group that the Jesuits are working to destroy, but it lists many books at the end of the [in depth ] article.

I would be remiss if I didn’t list a link to excerpts from “Vatican Assassins”

The power does lay with us.

  3. Robert Barricklow on January 21, 2014 at 6:53 pm

There would be multi-purposes for these badged operators. For one, some are no doubt deep. Two, a few are probably going to be part of (usa) domestic terrorism. Three, Some are going to operate as “left behind” Gladio types(domestic trainers/ops in their prescribed geographies). There is the “alien” op side as well, drumming up “boston tea party Indians The sad roster of CIVACS, as the military calls victims of “our” post 9/11 wars, will no doubt be sky &*$#@ing high!

Peace is the only option NOT on the table.

  4. Bigelow on January 21, 2014 at 4:34 pm

Just a quote from Martin Armstrong:
“This rise in geopolitical turmoil does NOT necessarily suggest that World War III is on our doorstep. That does not appear possible until at least the 2014 turning point. Nonetheless, this does warn that the number of nations impacted by this Cycle of War will be greater than that of both previous world wars of the 20th century. However, this suggests that it will manifest itself more on a civil unrest/civil war in more nations on a global scale.”

A new World War could be justification for all this new buildup, eh?

The populations on the map make one wonder if a role might be the recovery of artifacts. Most of the places with most of the forces seem to be regionally collocated with places where there were paleoancient cultures, as per Grid of the Gods.

With the actions at the Bagdad Museum, Egypt, and other similar events… one wonders…

Things never seem to happen for one reason with these folks. I’m more and more coming to the conclusion that Joseph is right and the UFO is the big hidden factor behind all of the various offenses to which the world has been subject to. Not much else makes sense. Such a thesis is the only one I know of that ties together all of the data points.

So more Rambo’ on the ground huh, the Pantagonian budget gets a boost and bingo, the “special forces” get globalized. I cant seem to think that everyone in the five sided building is NUTS, just the fools running it. Where does this military mentality come from.

Well watch the first fifteen minutes of ‘Full Metal Jacket” and it’s easy to see where it comes from. They take kids and turn them into killers, and all in the name of defending the “land of the free and home of the brave”.

These military and political bafoons should be put in a room with the moms and dads who lost their kids in Vietnam, Iraq and all the other wars, you can imagine the conversation. The next big gig for the US military will be Africa, I mean they have been everywhere else!

“It didn’t take long before every continent but Antarctica was bristling with markers”- so let’s take this line at face value-

so why was Antarctica spared?- something down there one doesn’t want to have ‘marked’ or can’t have ‘marked’?

As Major General Smedley Butler said early in the last century. Al Capone ran five districts in South Chicago he ran five continents. He was a hitman for our pillars of society United Fruit, US Steel, J.P. Morgan the Rockefellers etc. Just think of the same show on steroids or the British Empire uber allies.

    • LSM on January 21, 2014 at 12:43 pm

exactly, marcos- since when has the British Empire ever really gone away?- it’s egregious legacy continues with the remnants of Winston Churchill, Jimmy Saville, Edward Heath, Lord Mountbatten, most in the Thatcher cabinet and a whole continuous host of others all laughingly (following is British humor when laughing at someone else) “‘having a poke at somebody”

Milton, if we’re talking about the same thing, I was responding to Frankie’s youtube link. The protagonist meets their (gender unknown) demise when it is sent off on an extended polar holiday. In other words, the chill did ’em in.

I think you are onto something there. Who is going to be in control all over the world when “Disclosure” occurs. Who is behind the holograph “Disclosure” is another question.

  12. terminally skeptical on January 21, 2014 at 10:37 am

    The Lexicon:

    “all threats” . . . . foreign and domestic
“maintain faith with our people” . . . . . keep the peace by whatever means necessary
    “greatest need” . . . . . . when the sh!t hits the fan

“something else” . . . . . that something over there may be different than the something over here. Over there, spying and catalyzing insurrection, over here, serving as lieutenants and organizers of foreign mercenaries should millions of deer hunters decide to take up arms.

Probably just a mere coincidence, but. if we didn’t look for hidden messages right before our eyes, how stale the internet would become. From the above article:

“A lot of what we will do as we go forward in this force is build partner capacity,” McRaven said at the Ronald Reagan Library in November, noting that NATO partners as well as allies in the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America “are absolutely essential to how we’re doing business.”

And who can forget Ronald Reagan’s speech to the UN:

“In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world”

Speech to the United Nations General Assembly, 42nd General Assembly
    September 21, 1987

I guess the thing to do would be to look at the special forces training manuals and find out who they are training to fight. Are there chapters on how to set booby traps for 15 foot tall titans? How to build an anti-plasma gun with household items, if the 3D printer isn’t working? How to detect a shape shifting reptilian in a crowd of humans?

It is very exhilarating to think that the world may one day be unified in a dire war against aliens. I agree with Ronald Reagan there. For some reason, the thought of dying in a guerilla war against invading monsters isn’t so bad, even considering our deaths will no doubt be that much more horrific. It’s the thought of highly trained death squads doing the bidding of a global Fourth Reich which is so unsettling. With such resources, such careful and patient planning, and such evil cunning, the fascists appear almost invincible.

On a tactical note, I don’t believe there are any special forces in the world who can stop a creature like this:

ohh, Frankie, if you really want to go there with your provided link then think about John Kiel’s “Mothman” (among other things)

      • Tim H on January 21, 2014 at 1:14 pm

That’s one of my idols you’re referring to LSM, but his name is spelt John A Keel and Richard Gere played him in the movie version “The Mothman Prophecies”. Not a bad film, actually, but it seemed to be in post production or something for a very long time. I heard about the film in ’95 and it was released in ’03. The dvd has a contemporary documentary about the weird events happening in West Virginia back in ’67 or whenever it was…
I can just see Green Berets on the hunt for Mr Apol!
