What’s also interesting about this is that it would not seem to be an attitude they would have about aliens that are more advanced than us, nor even those we have merely gained “parity” with, unless they’re just completely nuts. It comes across as “power position” type talk.

Could it be that some of our genetic cousins fell on harder times than we after certain events, and our elites have found them in a situation that Earthlings can take advantage of, in the same or similar way as the conquistadores took advantage of the native populations of the Americas? What next then? A solar system slave trade?

An ugly picture arises. One can only hope, and if necessary, when the time comes, push hard for us to go down a much different path than that.

tommo1966 may I recommend a science fiction short story titled The Gentile Vultures. In the story these aliens having waiting for us humans to nuke ourselves which has been long overdue. They abduct this human to find out why this has not happen and when they question him he starts calling them vultures they so traumatize by this answer they abandon their base on the Moon and fear when the humans make the breakout we will reign death and destruction on the galaxy.

They would surely have their reasons to think so.

    Things that stick:

The deep ambiguity of the term ‘alien,’ accentuated by the fact that we live in an age of alienation, ‘atomization.’ The one sense of ‘alien’ can be a code for the other; preparations for one can be actually preparations for the other.

    and

“Are you prepared to survive the encounter” – to graduates of a fairly normal nonmilitary university. This suggests the militarisation of the whole society. The speaker was deliberately vague about whether he meant a physical or a spiritual kind of survival, but both senses project the sense of being threatened and the perceived need for combativeness.

Militarization implied – a very acute observation

Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t really think that any race of ET will be lining up for a communion wafer any time soon, Vatacan II or no.

That said, I admire the Church’s confidence (bravado?) in its cosmic infallibility. Good luck with that.

The church angle will come into play later…
As far as the “fall” goes. I believe it is a cosmic event of the most sinister. I realized this “perception” in about 1971. Since then, I haven’t found much that coincides with said sinister viewpoint, until of late. This is probably much to do with the internet and access to a multitudes of viewpoints. This, and the mix that results from the exchange of viewpoints germinating onwards to countless others. In reading a 1974 novel(Flow My Tears) by Philip K Dick I came across a facet of this that a least gets the “concept” across/The church of my choice is the free open world. Some go deep into it and can’t pull out. Anyone affected by it is forced to perceive irreal universes, whether they want to or not. As I said, trillions of possibilities are theoretically all of a sudden real, chance enters and the person’s perception system chooses one possibility out of all those presented to it. It has to choose, because if it didn’t, competing universes would overlap, and the concept of space itself would vanish. The brain seizes on the spatial universe nearest at hand.
So there is that. Now the character finds himself “captured” by another “reality” being imposed on his “perception”/Technically an actualized environment enveloped him, one which is alien to the former one that he always experience(Before The Fall), and he operates as if he had entered a new world . A world with changed aspects…the amount of change being determined by how great the so-to-speak distance is between the universe he formerly perceived and the new one he’s forced to function in. He passed over into a universe in which HE DIDN’T EXIST. And we passed over with him because we’re objects of his percept-system. We occupy two space corridors at the same time, one real, on irreal. One is actuality; one is a latent possibility among many. Time-Binding is a function of the brain. It’s a structualization of perception orientation.
This the is, in-part, that concept. And “Language” is the key. But that requires too much…

    space.

Time to dust off my copy of Arthur C Clarke’s “Childhood’s End” and re-read it through my new GDS lens while looking in my virtual rearview mirror … why do I feel like I am from somewhere else and who are the Overlords and as Neru suggested will the denouement be “pitchforks and fire” instead of harps and haloes?

    • Robert Barricklow on May 23, 2014 at 9:43 am

One of my favorites; the ending(the evolution from Childhood’s End) is one of the best.
Another, in the same vein of a “perception/reality is:
Flow My Tears, the policeman said by Philip K Dick.

  6. Neru on May 23, 2014 at 7:55 am

Hope I can bypass my cosmic dementia soon because the only thing I sense with this news are “pitchforks and fire” and that scares the hell out of me.

  7. Anthroposophe on May 23, 2014 at 7:52 am

Well, perhaps the Vatican owes Giordano Bruno an apology.

  8. marcos toledo on May 22, 2014 at 7:51 pm

Chris are you thinking of the South African scifi District 9. I think what our oligarchs can look forward to is becoming Mamelukes or Janissaries. Slave solders for our creator masters as Stanton Freidman says our major life style has been tribal warfare and genocide and beast of burden.

  9. chris on May 22, 2014 at 5:18 pm

I thought that we may be the Martians. Or are these the aliens that blow up planets, the space brothers from the tee-vee series “alien Nation”that i can have a beer with or maybe even the ones from the movie “Zone 9″(i think)?
Seriously though, this smells of more control over us than anything else.
good blog Joseph. Glad your feeling better.
    thanks,
    Chris Noegel

As I’ve stated before, maybe the ET’s don’t want to be baptized, the reason is, that their god is the one that built the Universe and subsequently, shoots the Bible in the foot. The Vaticanofworms is “positioning” itself for an event in the future, there is no doubt about that, if it isn’t, why mention it at all.

Some New Age doctrines state that Earth is the only place in the Physical / Pinda plane where you can escape the Wheel of 84 (re-incarnation). The Gnostic texts taught the theory of reincarnation until the Council of Nicea deleted those teachings. Earth is a very interesting spiritual experiment. Note, the Klatu contingent that told Eisenhower we needed to get our spiritual house in order. So, if we were faced with a colonizing alien presence, would it not be karma for our culture of invasion? My HIP (Humble, Ignorant and Paranoid) opinion is that any invasion will likely be a changing of the guard, new aliens for old. We’ll see if the new landlords or more accommodating.

There is a lot of food for thought here, but I would just like to remark that the idea of off-planet religious imperialism is not so bizarre as it might seem; though it’s anyone’s guess how and why this might be developed and if it is just (or primarily) directed at manipulating earthlings’ perceptions. For mere political and financial control? Well, if a significant mass of people have their perceptions manipulated in a certain direction, doesn’t this impinge directly on the ether or medium? And with what possible consequences off-planet?

    • WalkingDead on May 23, 2014 at 11:09 am

“To Serve Man”, The twilight Zone…
The breakaway civilization is attempting to grab what it can and escape off planet before the harvest…
I hope they make it, good riddance.
Who knows, maybe the seeds of the next civilization left behind to repopulate the earth will fare better.
