TIDBIT: GERMAN BRIGADIER GENERAL TO BECOME CHIEF OF STAFF TO US FORCES ...

Here's one to ponder:

German Officer to Serve US Army in Europe as Chief of Staff

But of course, this has NOTHING to do with the strained relations between the two countries...

Yea... right...

“Officials said the addition of a German general officer to the USAREUR staff has been planned for several months, and is part of an American effort to give a more multi-national flavor to its major overseas commands.”
Whoever writes these press releases must be quite optimistic if they think anybody will believe that certain events – changes in top brass, sudden changes in routes during naval exercises etc. – have actually been planned for weeks, months or even years…

Let’s see, we’ve been caught spying on the Germans and we haven’t given them their gold back.. Could this be due to our total lack of credibility and the loss of trust? My guess is things will continue to deteriorate with Germany.. This was a concession on our part to cede military power back to the Germans.. We’ve been there way too long.

“U. S. and German senior military leaders have been serving together in NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan for years. Sustaining the shared capability from this experience will benefit both the U. S. and German armies,” said Campbell…

    “For years.”
Translation: Afghanistan is the US Army’s oldest, bestest friend. Great place to hang out and make friends…

It’s always hair-raising to read something meant to stay within the military’s twisted parallel universe.
