18 years 3 months (RSS) and between that and 14+ years for the other 4 global temperature datasets (UAH, HadCRUT4, GISS, NCDC).
The PDO turned negative around 2001 (Dr Easterbrook), the AMO has peaked and is on the way down and the sun is the quietest its been in centuries.
The best we can hope for is a 1945-77 type negative phase of the PDO. The worst would be Dr Libby’s which would mean our inter-glacial might be done.
Dr Libby in the 1970s said that “looking forward it will stay cold until the mid 80s (it did), then it will warm by about 1/4 degree F until the end of the century (it did plus a bit more), then it gets cold”. When asked how cold she was predicting a 1-2 degree F drop with an outside chance of a 3-4 degree drop.
We will live to see who is correct and then good luck to those who follow us because it might be back to the ice box.
Synchronistically, I have spent the morning watching various youtubes on Chemtrails. Many of the scientists say that the “persistant jet contrails” actually WARM, not cool, the atmosphere below.
So that removes even the pretense that this is being done to “save the planet.”
Nope. I suspect it is (1) weapons related, (2) weather derivatives and, I hate to think it but it is hard to avoid the obvious (that the aluminum, barium, strontium, arsenic, nano-bio’s) they are dumping on us, our air, our water and our crops are designed to “thin the herd,” if not kill humans altogether.
Which makes me think that the layer ABOVE the (Illuminati/Old Black Nobility) IS actually alien or artificial intelligence….

Oh Lost you had to bring up Dragons, but i just posted a comment on another section but short version is Global warming and cooling are the cause and effect of increased solar or sun activity has been over millions of years things heat up melts more ice caps slows down undercurrent until stops heat melts then the planet cools down causes ice age but before the heat then built up and warmed enough to start the flow up again but now with the great hole in the ozone layer that saving the heat will go else where out into space not back to the planet well longer ice age wrap up well. Now the spraying is a totally another issue and need not be linked with warming or cooling misdirection other reasons are involved there and covert they are not another fact but also other reason the illusionist getting people to look the other way what is it really for that would be interesting to know not guess the compounds involved are very specific and global and nothing to do with the weather or fixing the hole in the ozone and to close the theories on population control that is not it either fast approaching eight billion people so then it must be for something else think about what else it could be for when all other wild idea have been crossed of the list what is really left what does it do that is the real point you need to know right focus and think.
The major problem is that the real Earth is not to my knowledge a computer simulation. And until the politicians, scientist get that through the minds they will be arguing to doomsday about this problem. So the scientist just get out your spades and shovels and start digging and go back to the tree rings counting to get their facts strait as much as possible.

“The planet hasn’t warmed in 15 years”. Except this is much of what FoxNews was spouting a few years ago–turned out to be completely wrong.
Why is FoxNews from a few years ago relevant? The Daily Mail article is from the year 2012.
Sure yeah, perhaps there is a cycle, but it’s much longer than 25 years. And anyone living near the ocean over the last 40 sure has seen changes in the shore line–indicating an average rise in the sea. Then there’s all the disappearing glaciers all over the world. They’re not going to magically reform in 30 years.
The Thames River freezing over one winter is meaningless.
Winter is coming!
It’s almost as if the Game of Thrones is reality tv.
Winter in the TV series (books too I imagine) seems more like a weather engineering event, in that it doesn’t come regularly and it doesn’t last a set duration. Even if winter were brought on my some astronomical alignment, there’d be a predictability to it.
