In a world that can grow food for ten times the population if it so choose to,why are we preparing our brightest and most promising for famine and social degeneration. Since the grants that keep our university system going are provided for by the foundations that also control the federaL banking industry I detect a negative influence on our future prospects as Americans,perhaps scaring our youths into forgetting about humanitarian pursuits with their education and use it to align themselves with the upper 1 percent “winners” before its too late. So much for the university sphere of enlightenment. This is what happens when you allow private industry to decide what to spend the tax dollars they owe on rather than making them pay their tax debts directly to the government and let the peoples representatives decide how to support and develope our educational system.
There’s always been Mickey Mouse courses to let the less intelligent get a taste of uni and the politicians put out “great ” figures about participation in higher education. As long as employers know what to do with job applications from Zombie Studies graduates no harm done 🙂

Who have used Aristotle, Ptolemy and others to maintain their power over us. And never let reality interfere with their fantasies it’s wonder we are not cowering up a tree or cave still if it was up to these idiots we would. OVER SCHOOLED UNDER EDUCATED BRUTES.
Maybe a college course centered around science fiction and history novels might not be bad. At least the students might learn real science and history instead of the pseudo-science-history they being indoctrinated in now.
Even if there turns out to be no life out there, until Jean Luc Picard is not only not a fictional character but not an unusual human, we have no business in space. Bad enough what we do here. We need to concentrate on becoming better earthlings.
Also, strikes me that this could turn out to be perfect for us. It could hasten the day when enough of us see radically overpriced indoctrination as ludicrous and… and just plain begin doing better….
