Remember Dr. Carol Rosin? Remember the statements she made years ago, about how Dr. Wernher von Braun had told her the "game plan" for putting weapons of mass destruction in space? First, the Communists, then terrorists, then "nations of concern," then asteroids, then ET? Well, for all those who denigrated and attacked her back then, consider this newest bit of news about blasting asteroids apart; it's no longer talk, the missions are now being planned:

When you critically ponder thermonuclear weapons, their testing, mass deployment, and the use of 5th-generation mini-nukes pretty much everywhere on and since 9/11, does blowing up asteroids for fun and profit really surprise anyone who has been paying any attention at all (okay, about one-hundred of you) on this planet?
The headline is misleading. It seemed to suggest that high energy beam technology might be the instrument of destruction which is not the case. This is purely momentum physics and nothing more than billiards for the well-heeled. But I suppose if you read between the lines as to what is “really” going on up there then let’s hope there’s enough juice left over to zap the detritus after they collide lest in the aftermath we have a very nasty deluge here on Earth.
It seems to me that there are some big things “going on” in the Solar System already. Shooting an asteroid out of orbit or whatever may just be a smoke screen for war in space inside the Solar System. If you consider that this planet has had intelligent life on it for much longer than the so-called scientists are saying, then there is much more going on here on Earth or in the Solar System.

and the page is blank with all mankind’s achievements without the spin factor built in to soften the blow
So to defend Earth from asteroids we intend to blow them into smaller pieces. Wouldn’t that make the situation worst creating space shrapnel and grapeshot. It would save money why launch nuclear weapons when you could use space debris instead to do the attack on your target. Offensive war under guise of defending the Earth from dangerous asteroids.
This doesn’t really seem to smart. We, in our ignorance, are going to take a benign object and shift its orbit onto an unknown path, possibly to come back around and hit us at a later date? Even worse, it may break apart and shower us with smaller pieces on this pass.
Reports of other objects on close flybys are already in the news, if you keep up with that sort of thing; so this is not new and seems to be following the “plan” already.
Now the “ET” part may be coming down the line, but will it really be “ET” or that secret space program used to that end to bring about their “world order” thus making Reagan and others statements prophetic.
If it’s a demonstration to some “others” who may be watching, it’s a pretty lame attempt at a demonstration of force.
I do not buy into the scarcity meme being touted by the breakaway group. There is a race to get out there, no doubt, but more to find out what “else” might be there rather than resources. What we may find will most likely be ancient, not new, and those “aliens” may just turn out to be us from a high antiquity advanced civilization which destroyed itself in a solar system wide war. There seems to be plenty of evidence lying around, if you but look for it and see it for what it is. Ancient texts contain myths about the “Watchers” and “wars in heaven” which would lend credence to such possibilities.
Only time will tell if the book of revelation is prophecy about a true God or a warning about another breakaway civilization from high antiquity returning to check up on the losers of a long forgotten cosmic war. That we were the losers of such a war is readily apparent, since they blasted us back into the stone age. Given our propensity for war and the evil ways of our “leadership”, I wouldn’t want us back out there either.
