  2. A very interesting article. Makes me want an ‘update’ article, since this was from 2001…

    Assuming that Mike Bara meant 3,000 square miles in area, that is Huge. The city of Los Angeles covers an area of about 500 square miles. If artificial, what possibilities!

    Around the scenario of virus/plague victims being shipped-out of Antarctica, this has eerie similarities to “Frozen” in the fourth episode of the sixth season of Stargate SG-1, where scientists un-iced an Ancient and promptly came down with a deadly disease. (The Ancient cured them, at the cost of her life.) This episode’s original air date of June 28, 2002, is close enough to the Bara article to possibly be ‘leaked’ information…

    In a somewhat-related fashion, the ‘orbital radar mapping’ image of Antarctica brought up another question. In the image, one can clearly see a ‘tail’ being drawn-out of Antarctica. There is a similar ‘tail’ drawn-out from the southern tip of South America, trending in the same direction as the Antarctic ‘tail’. If you envision the two continents from a space aspect, they were obviously ‘connected’ at some point in the past. This could simply be Continental Drift (whatever really powers it) consequences, or could be related to Crustal Displacement (if real) effects.

    The above is important because of the Antarctic circumpolar current. Currently (hah!), Antarctica is effectively cut-off from global ocean circulation. This amplifies the polar deep-freeze effects, since no warm water gets anywhere close to Antarctica. However, evidenced from the two ‘tails’, there was a time when the circumpolar current did not exist. There was an effective ‘land bridge’ between the two continents, preventing the circumpolar flow from forming. Antarctica may have been much warmer from this effect alone. So, dating this ‘stretch’ is important.

    The big question (around the possible ‘base’) is: How long ago was Lake Vostok ice free?

  3. That’s almost funny.. This time its the explorer’s catching Smallpox from the Natives. So many people having to get medi vacc’ed from the Antarctica… (or was it called Lemuria oh so long ago..) Scientists getting medi-vacc ed out.. 86 yr old Astronaughts..     A fully working Pyramid encased under Ice and giving out heat.. ?? Maybe… I think that it would make sense that some of the ancient buildings could have survived the deplacement…slowly burning away.. Resonance.. its all about the resonance. 🙂
    Or is it the unpenetrable Nazi fortress buried under Ice ready for the Fuhrer..

  4. The line from 2001 Space Odessey about not being able to discuss a mysterious disease mirrors just a little too much the sudden “medical emergencies” reported in the continent in recent times, up to the Aldrin case the other day. Could it be that some people are affected and others not?

      Medical emergencies.. Like the Siberia and it’s Anthrax scare from not so long ago? Did the Antarcticans blast through to Siberia to have a pre-chat with Kirill before he took the Ark back to the Guardians?

      Right, enough tinfoil- off for wine and cheese.

  5. The French novel that this story brought to mind was titled The Ice People. Now I have to keep an eye out for Subterranean well Antarctica gets stranger and stranger and Mike Barra authored this story.

  7. This article makes me think of the quickly frozen and well preserved wooly mammoths found in Siberia. Perhaps the bodies being evacuated were other than the scientists who were just a cover for bodies being evacuated. Perhaps some alien methane breathing creature from Venus before it’s resurfacing cataclysm was captured from it’s under ice lair and required lots of salt brine for some reason.
