BACK TO SCREWL: AINT EDGYKAYSHUN GRATE?

The dog days of August will soon be upon us, and with them, millions of happy, skipping, playing children will soon be off to their local Amairukuhn public edgykayshun screwl where they will listen attentively to their teachers facilitators who will teach facilitate the transfer of information and critical thinking ability osmotic absorption of sensitivity and higher consciousness and politically correct attitudes, and learn how to spell and read use learn how to invent gender neutral pronouns as they spell correctly and use proper English grammar and diction fill their text messages with endless abbreviations thus facilitating faster communication obfuscating and ruining any chance of real communication. Then Pavlov's bell will ring, the children will salivate, and run out to swing and play and talk with each other bury their faces in their ipads, conduct no social interaction with each other, sit on picnic table benches, swill corn syrup from soda, and grow fat, stupid, lazy, and own their own butthurt safe spaces.

Yes, that's right: we're going to have another edgykayshun rant, and if you think that things cannot possibly be as bad as all this, think again. As Gary Lawrence and I pointed out in our book Rotten to the (Common) Core, the Amairikuhn screwl - to borrow radio commentator Rush Limbaugh's apt term for it - is nothing but a big social engineering experiment, from kindergarten all the way to graduate quackademia. Yes, if you have white skin, you're the problem. Now, I don't know about you, but back in the day, this would be called racism. Get this:

The “Reimagining Education Summer Institute” conference, organized by Columbia University’s Teachers College, was held in mid-July and concentrated on “opportunities and challenges of creating and sustaining racially, ethnically and socio-economically integrated schools,” according to its website.

The event, in its second year, drew 300 participants that mostly consisted of K-12 teachers and principals, the institute’s director Amy Wells said in a phone interview with The College Fix. The four-day conference included plenary sessions, dozens of workshops and dialogue sessions.

One presentation, called “Whiteness in schools,” provided “a history of Whiteness, and will invite participants into a discussion of how Whiteness and White culture shapes what happens in schools,” according to a description.

One workshop discussed “3 ways to face white privilege in the classroom.” Presented by Teachers College postdoctoral fellow Jamila Lyiscott, a summary of the workshop states it included “activities and critical dialogue around White privilege to connect personal responsibility to pedagogical possibilities for the classroom.”

And a workshop on “Teaching for Social Justice” sought to challenge colonialist and racist pedagogies.

“We will challenge Eurocentric pedagogical approaches that not only under-prepare students for the realities of our increasingly multiethnic, multilingual, globalized society, but are also rooted in colonial and racist ideologies that stifle the voices, identities, and realities of students of color,” a description states.

Yes, whiteness, race, is the problem.  Uh huh. And if you believe that, I have several bridges in Manhattan for sale... cheap. (Cash only, no bitcoins, or credit or debit cards.)

This is nothing new, for as we pointed out in Rotten to the (Common) Core, the Progressive Education Association, a "brainchild" of the busybody John Dewey, published a study in December of 1943, where we read the following commissarial ukase:

"This is a global war... we are writing now the credo by which our children must live (for those of you who remember English grammar, note the imperative mood).

They were drawing up, by their own admission (cue trumpet fanfare), "a blueprint for the children of the world."(pp. 82-83).

Thus it has nothing to do with whiteness; this is the handy dandy "racism" card that has been and is being played to wage a cultural war rather on the foundations of Western Civilization, of which, as I have stated before, there are three fundamental bases: (1) Judaism, and the idea of covenant or contract, and hence, equality before the law and a universal rule of law (2) Christianity, and the doctrine of the incarnation, which implies a sacredness to human work, and to intellectual and emotional life (that pretty well encompasses the arts and sciences), and (3) the humanistic impulse, coming from the Renaissance and Enlightenment, which created the enormous impetus for critical thought, scholarship, the study of the craft and tradition of artistic and scientific creativity and discipline. Yes, we call them "academic disciplines" because it took discipline, dedication, and responsibility to study and master them, whether one was studying painting or physics, music or mathematics.

But wait, there is still more:

There was also a “Deconstructing Racial Microaggressions” workshop in which attendees pledged to address racial insults at their schools.

Institute director Wells, a professor of sociology and education at the Teachers College, said the conference came about out of her belief that the “missing piece” regarding issues of integration in education is what goes on inside the classroom.

“It’s always about getting kids into the building and I just think … we’re always missing the educators who actually do the work and who actually interact with the kids on daily basis and help them understand race in terms of how they’re relating to other students,” she said.

And of course, the problem here is that when edgykayshun becomes social engineering in pursuit of eradicating "microagressions," there will be no end of the process, and the edugarchy - as Mr. Lawrence and I called the edgykayshunal oligarchy - is permanently empowered to subject teachers and students to its own aggressions, which are hardly of a "micro" nature, but rather of a marco nature. After all, it's a war on western culture. The result, the goal, of all of this, of teacher certification and the colleges of "edgykayshun," was to make teachers not the ministers of a tradition, but rather to turn them into "change agents", the sergeants in the field of social engineering, carrying out the orders of the generals in the edgykayshun colleges for social engineering. THe teaching certificate is nothing but a "license to practice" a particular kind of social engineering.

So here's a thought: Why not simply teach language and letters, and thereby create that common cultural matrix that all  can participate in, and thereby eradicate the divisiveness championed by our edugarchs? Consider this op-ed piece shared by many people this past week, and written by a former teacher, Ms. Linda Shrock Taylor:

Rotten to the Common Core

Ms. Taylor is correct: the heart of the problem is a system where regulators enforce their stunted vision of the world through "teaching colleges" and the whole implied process of certification, backing up by a federal goobernment that is completely out of control and in the hands of some of the most corrupt, psychopathic and narcissistic twits in history, who pander, not to education, but to the corporations peddling academic quackery, and the "education" departments that long ago declared their cultural treason.

Understand what this means; it means increasingly that those of you with children will have to be like the mother in Ms. Taylor's article; you'll have to take up the mantle of education of your children yourself, and in defiance of the "cultural values" of racism, bigotry, and divisiveness and "microagressions" being championed by the edugrachy. They will not do it. They sold out decades ago. Understand that the progressive movement long ago targeted education for infiltration and co-option, to use it as a means of creating their "blueprint for the children of the world" and writing the "credo by which they must live."

We see the result. Their "credo" is an absolute disaster, socially, culturally, and most importantly, in terms of the generations of idiots it has churned out.

  1. You know, to see just exactly what’s going on with SJW=BS, I actually suffered through watching the keynote address to a SJW “education” conference given by one of these top SJW hucksters. She was white and privileged, upper-class, Amherst and Harvard educated, had her own successful business “advising” on SJW issues.

    In short, she had made it big time and clearly knew what was really going on, and surely her paychecks were paid by the Frankfurt School fifth columnists who want to sow division to reap the rewards of civil strife. In other words, every word reeked of cynical manipulation.

    She knew just as sure as day that promoting the radical disembowelment of education and justifying rank ignorance as “justice” for perceived oppression ( no grades and therefore no need to work, no need to learn or properly use the English language, denigration of the entire social structure as inherently racist and sexist, etc.) would lead to these “students” being graduated as complete and utter incompetents without a clear thought in their heads and unable to find gainful employment, and thus with no alternative but to go on the dole or lead a life of petty crime.

    Ultimately, cui bono? The nanny state Bolsheviks. A plague.

  2. Back in the old days, we used to call this kind of stuff SHAMING. It is particularly effective if you use it during a teen’s ‘socialization’ years. It ingrains a sort of nebulous ‘terror’ that causes teens to keep their heads down and obey. A clever (if diabolical) tactic…

    (I take issue with this statement: “…there are three fundamental bases: (1) Judaism, and the idea of covenant or contract, and hence, equality before the law and a universal rule of law…” Rather, Judaism results from a tribal-god point-of-view. There is an in-group, which is protected and elevated, and an out-group, for which anything goes. Remember how “God” commanded the proto-Judaics to march into Canaan and slaughter every man, woman, child – and even cow – of the natives they came across. And punished them severely if they missed one? It is “equality before the law and a universal rule of law” only for the in-group; all others are fair game. How could you miss this???)

    But, back to reality, above the rhetoric and nonsense of the Ivory Tower: My White Jewish son who is 11, and just finished elementary school, did just fine in an inner-city Magnate School that was made up of mostly minority students. The Indian students (from the Sub-Continent) looked, talked and acted just like the upper middle class white kids that I went to school with in an Upper Crust area of Westchester NY.

  5. While I was in Catholic School I did not read anything but school text books. It was only when was thrown out of that system and was transferred to the state school system and was put in a reading program. Where I was put in a class to improve my reading skills that I began to regularly read books and put together my private library at home and began using first the school library and then the public library. I am a bad speller but I comprehend what I read reading and writing skills can be separated. That my favorite subjects have been history science has helped me in my learning throughout my life.

  6. The paragraphs quoted don’t call “whiteness” the problem, they say very clearly “white privilege”.

    Big difference.

    An example of white privilege in the USA being you’re much less likely to be shot by a cop during a simple traffic stop if you’re white than if you’re black. More basically, you can walk down the street, while sober, and expect to remain unmolested by cops if you’re white.

    Now, the “micro-aggressions” thing is an entirely separate method of controlling a narrative in many cases, and the capacity to offend of course needs to exist, this includes the students offending the professors, and pedestrians offending cops.

    Cases in point:

    Some professor of political science blathering on about the reasons for the invasion of Afghanistan and its “liberation” from the Taliban, who doesn’t bother to mention what came before and what the US wrought in backing the war against the Soviets, using Saudi and drug monies, or neglects the “Great Game”, needs to explain himself.

    On the subject of the US invasion of Afghanistan: Some years ago I watched an engineering professor on the Discovery Chanel demonstrate why/how removing the horizontals from an approximation of the World Trade towers resulted in the demonstration tower collapsing–sideways. Needless to say Discovery stopped running that video of how a tower should have collapsed. That narrative was just too easy to challenge.

    Applies to the hard sciences too: Some professor of chemistry or physics claiming that the periodic table is stable at 20 degrees Celsius, it’s not, or some physics type insisting that Newton provided a source for gravitation, he didn’t, an electrical engineering professor claiming to derive “Maxwell’s equations”, etc.

    There are points that Mds, and priests, psychiatrists, and imans all need to be challenged on too.

    There’s a lot mystical thinking involved in the hard sciences and traditions of the academy, a conference on white privilege may not be the best approach, but it is saying there’s something wrong.

    In the mid-1960s, John Archibald Wheeler co-authored a book that quite clearly provides the correct result of the 1887 Michelson-Morely experiment. The ether drift is not less than 1/6 the orbital velocity of the earth. (That’s something like 5.7 KPS as a minimum.) Then the book convolutes itself into claiming that’s a zero result, without ever mentioning that the result is well within the predicted ether drift of 4 to 40 KPS. The prediction was NOT 10,000 KPS. The existence of the ether vitiates pretty much all of relativity and quantum mechanics, or perhaps makes them into overly complex descriptive, non-explanatory, formal ways of thought.

    Those few paragraphs in the Wheeler book are a classic example of abuse of language and logic to suppress an idea, or experimental result, that’s challenging–and he’s certainly a member of the physics academy. There’s a long history of this kind of thing.

    I live together with my daughter and two boys 6 and 8.
    We are fighting for a year now for the correct education for our sons. The way children learn math today is so complicated so children now have to go to a school that is lower than their intelligence. Teachers have the oblication to educate children the richt way. We are now going to court to start a short trial. They did really nothing for our children. And I know that 4.200 children in Holland are at home.

In the US students and teachers are being sent (metaphorically) to work camps where they are supposed to obey the whims of the Kapos. But things are different from 1790 and 1980. C.A. Fitts has talked time and again about electronics-driven entrainment; it can be very effective but is also a double-edged sword, since there is increasing awareness that in a quantum universe NO communication can really be one-way, or top-down, and the breakaway civilisation “watchers” are also definitely “watched”. Just as the “facilitators” are themselves being “facilitated”.
