AMAIRIKUHN EDGYKAYSHUN STRIKES AGAIN

It's been a while since I posted a rant about the sad state of Amairikuhn edgykayshun and the social justice Gramscian Marxist culture warriors running it. And you can cross another university off your list to send your kids to if you're interested in having them actually learn something for all that money you're paying out, because this week I was deluged by this story, and I have to confess it left me both angry - outraged in fact - and frustrated, for this Illinois professor manages to get just about everything wrong:

In case you missed it, here's the part that provokes today's rant:

A University of Illinois math professor believes that algebra and geometry perpetuate “white privilege” because Greek terms give Caucasians unearned credit for the subject.

But that isn’t the professor’s only complaint. She also believes that evaluations for math proficiency perpetuates discrimination against minority students, if they do worse than their white counterparts.

Rochelle Gutierrez argues in a newly published math education book for teachers that they must be aware of the identity politics surrounding the subject of mathematics.

“On many levels, mathematics itself operates as Whiteness,” she argues with complete sincerity, according to Campus Reform. “Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as White.”

Yes, that's right, the whole field of mathematics has been unduly Hellenized and Caucasianized, and as a result, everyone suffers from mathematical microagressions:

“If one is not viewed as mathematical, there will always be a sense of inferiority that can be summoned,” she says, claiming that minorities “have experienced microaggressions from participating in math classrooms… [where people are] judged by whether they can reason abstractly.”

What pabulum puking cacaphonous codswallop!

In complaining about whiteness in mathematics, Ms. Gutierrez appears to have forgotten the simple fact that algebra - the whole concept of using a formal symbolic calculus to reason mathematically - wasn't a white Euro-caucasian invention at all, it was an Arab one, which suggests that Arabs are now "whites" in Ms. Gutierrez's simulacra and facsimiles of reason and her gloriously tangled taxonomy of mathematical racial-mechanics. She also  seems not to have noticed the contributions of Hinduism to the whole evolution of mathematics with its invention of "zero", and somehow the contributions of Indian genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan to mathematical analysis also escaped her attention. Apparently, too, she's not keeping up with the Sumerian and Egyptian contributions to the subject either. No, she simply glides right over the whole evolution of her own discipline, in order to make a cheap "cultural" point in a discipline we all thought was safe from the ravages of the self-righteous social justice warrior lunacy. (Oh, and incidentally, Ramanujan basically taught himself... think of him as "home schooled." An autodidact in the truest sense of the word. Good thing, too, for if he had gone to an Amairikuhn quackademy, he probably would have ended up not being able to add or subtract, and complaining about the undue Hellenization of mathematics, and learning that mathematics is about microagressions and social justice.)

Not so. Ms. Gutierrez is there to remind us that when it comes to witless Gramscian posturing and multicultural schizophrenia, the Amairikuhn quackademy is unequaled.

Give it time, folks: eventually these nutcases will call for a complete revamping of mathematical conventions to eliminate them and replace them with "something else" that is more "reflective" of "diversity" and "fairness" and eliminating "microagressions"... and that of course will lead to complete chaos. (One wonders how they're going to handle those pesky Arabic numerals, a prime example of male privilege and the undue Arabization of mathematical conventions; just think who it excludes: Chinese, Japanese, Jews, atheists, blacks, albinos, Tibetans, &c &c... the list of the potentially offended, in mathematics' case, is virtually endless).

Don't think it matters? Well, consider this: when her students start designing fusion reactors or airplanes or start programing your next generation self-driving car, when they start driving into oncoming traffic, or crashing to the ground, or the plasma containment breaks down or the missiles go off like bottle rockets, at least you can rest comfortably in the fact that they've experienced no microagressions, and are "sensitive."

As for me and my house, I shall continue using Hindu zeros, Arabic numerals, and Greek capital sigmas for summations, the letter pi for 3.14159, capital deltas for change, little curly-cue "d's" for partial differentials, and so on.  Granted, I suffer tremendous emotional scarring by the microagressions of the undue Hinduization and Arabization of mathematics, and I'm dealing with it in my safe space with my therapist. The lollipops they give me during my electroconvulsive sessions help too, and if I have a lollipop while reading books of mathematics, I find I'm able to deal with the Arabization and Hinduization microagressions I encounter on almost every page without the nervous spasms of rejection that I used to have when encountering them.

See you on the flip side...

Thank you! Please, don’t let this theory go anywhere, but down the drain! (OK, not there either, it may wind up and take root in the swamp…)

So, rather than trying to understand why it’s harder to teach math lately (among other subjects), have the average student afraid to be seen (or happy to avoid) doing any “racist” math? IMO, it was a system that “failed” to “do the math” (didn’t add up how much mercury and aluminum they were injecting into newborns before recommending nine doses of each in the first 6 months of postnatal development beginning around 1989 and really coming into high compliance by the late 1990s) that deserves the lion’s share (not all) of credit for the current motivation to abandon educational mathematical requirements among other loosening standards.

For a war postering Western society becoming dumber by the second, it would be surreal if a WW effectively broke out. No Thor, iron man, Spiderman, Hulk, Captain America coming to the rescue!

It seems all those DARPA toys still will be built in China, Japan, Russia and India, the contract containing one sentence hardly mustered: back doors not allowed!

Certain countries must be laughing themselves silly! Whole societies are murdering themselves with pleasure and glee thinking it a good thing!

    Oh Illinois.
What a crop of human vegetables you will turn out into the world come graduation. Im trying to fathom what such a graduate could actually do for a career…… ….. hm. still thinking….
    E gads. They’ll become teachers.

Folks, in the 70s, I had a seventh grade social studies teacher who pronounced “bedouin” as “bagdoney”. This crap has been a long time coming.

The methods of “Indian genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan” do make a point. He insisted that any discoveries came not from his ego-self but from a higher source. (Hindunet) “Ramanujan told friends the Hindu Goddess Namagiri whispered equations into his ear.” And (Wikipedia) “Namagiri Thayar is a form of Hindu goddess Lakshmi worshipped in Namagiri, a city also called Namakkal, in modern Tamil Nadu, India. In Hindu mythology, she is the consort of MahaVishnu.”

Ramanujan was insistent that the ‘source ideas’ came from a higher domain, and that he only used the formalism of mathematics to prove the ‘existent’ equations. So, while the ‘structure’ of mathematics was necessary, it lacked the ‘creative spark’. From this, I could argue that to do Original math requires spiritual training (grin)…

(Gifted savants are another interesting twist. A minority can do astounding math or music feats with little to no formal training. This suggests that we are dealing in ill-understood areas – whether access to an unfettered right brain, ‘raw’ higher states, or even the ‘akashic records’. Whatever they are tying-into, it seems well-beyond ‘rote’ mathematics…)

Her ignorance of the history of math and the contributions of many cultures over many thousands of years points out two of the major problems in quackademia today: professors are generally ignorant of well known facts, and they will publish anything, regardless of how idiotic, to get paid and get publicity.

Just finished watching a Bearden video where he mentioned the Bell curve and its application to the percentage of the population who are sociopaths – he counts the numbers at 9 percent of any group, and they tend to be the power mongers who strive relentlessly to control others, minus remorse, conscience, or compassion (Darth Soros, anyone?). This obviously includes quackademia.

The even more ridiculous thing about this “professor” is that she is actually guilty of the very racism she is talking about by ignoring the contributions of other races in mathematics. Such is the doublespeak of the Idiocracy. The fact that she cannot see the obvious contradiction speaks volumes.

Bucky Fuller’s research showed that the Chinese understood the basics of calculus in something like 300 BC (or BCE, if you prefer the PC version). I’ve seen a diagram dating from that era which clearly shows the basic idea of using a series of rectangles inside a circle to measure the area under a curve – what we would consider the basis of integration in calculus.

So she has also insulted and committed racism against the Chinese in addition to the Arabic, Egyptian, Sumerian, and Hindu peoples. As someone once said (on the topic of college degrees, of which he had 8) on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson many years ago, “men grow foolish by degrees.” I guess we are now seeing equality in stupidity. Not the kind of “progress” in sexual equality which does us any good, unfortunately.

But, hey, she gets her 15 minutes of fame, and a healthy handout from the sociopaths in charge (SIC? New acronym anyone?).

Where have all the Kate Concepcion Picciotto’s gone?
She received the Joe A. Callaway Award for Civic Courage in 2011. “The Little Giant” set the highest standard for testing the authenticity of free speech protection under the Bill of Rights.
Barely able to pay her one-bedroom rental, the humble women and nearly penniless protester answer questions as to why she kept holding her vigil year after year:
    “For the children…
who must be taught to respect the value of LIFE,
    not material things.
She passed away in a homeless shelter January 25, 2016.

      Strike-out “Kate”.
      My mistake.
      Sorry about that Concepcion.

    Everything is racist.

When are these SJW idiots going to realize that they’re being laughed at? Of course disdain is also racist. Stupidity and supporting/abetting ignorance, however, are not. Go figure.

    Forward!

Then there is that minor detail of the rate at which the numerous Asian students excel in the scientific disciplines. The influx of such students was originally due to factors such as good academic standards, access to grant money and the attraction of living in “the land of the free”. As all these factors decline, they will go elsewhere… so instead of US corporations using India-based call centres, Indian companies will be using call centres in the US staffed by quackademics at 400 rupees per hour…

Maybe if they don’t like math they could learn a bit of psychology instead: starting with Freud’s concept of ‘the return of the repressed’. If these ninnies keep trying to outlaw ‘micro-aggressions’, we’ll see the return (with a vengeance) of ‘macro-aggressions’ soon enough. The Frankfurt crowd loved them some Freud; so you’d have to think they knew this. And maybe that’s the point: they do know it; they want to smash the world and leave it in rubble; or have us smash it for them so they don’t get their hands dirty. They don’t want to fix or reform the world: they want a return to a state of nature, to uterine non-being, stasis and death. They have far more in common with Hitler than they could ever comfortably imagine.

Ha. And don’t forget ordering a white coffee is waycist too. Only wainbow coloured wollipops are permitted. Anything else would offend the other colours on the light spectrum. It would be like having a tea party and only inviting your teddies and not your dollies too.
