Of course, the capability is older than the Telegraph admits, but the question arises, what if someone hacks into the upload, and the wrong kind of knowledge is uploaded?

    What came to mind was another Keanu Reeves movie where he uploads information to his brain and smuggles it to sell to buyers who pay top prices for it. There was also an episode of the original The Prisoner that deal with the idea.

    So, what happens when the ‘primary consciousness’ is suppressed? At what point does “a simulator which can feed information directly into a person’s brain and teach them new skills” morph over into Borg-like control over the ‘primary consciousness’? Even the Borg world was shown to have a programming ‘queen’ and programmed ‘worker bees’. While the skills-learning technique is admirable, it is a slippery slope…
