Joseph P. Farrell has a doctorate in patristics from the University of Oxford, and pursues research in physics, alternative history and science, and "strange stuff". His book The Giza DeathStar, for which the Giza Community is named, was published in the spring of 2002, and was his first venture into "alternative history and science".

    . . . Can’t help but wonder if there’s going to be a petition initiated to return the novel of George Orwell’s (Eric Arthur Blair), Nineteen Eighty-four (1949), back to fiction. . . It’s astonishing how many parallels one can point to in 2019 from a 1949 novel. . .

    People have, for the past hundred years, been arrested for inducing a state of mind by consuming the drug of their choice. Apparently there has not been too much objection to that. Arresting people for what they think is just the next step.
