A New Year it is, and the planet still seems to be going through its Milankovitch cycles, for better or worse, as is the system Sol star adjusting its Barycenter within the solar system. Solar activity is still acting strange and yielding what seems to be contributing its part in extreme weather phenomena. Indian continent undergoing some freezing conditions; the Polar Vortex bending and breaking often wreaking havoc with weather patterns; and the magnetosphere off its mark from a modern frame of reference, and Australia is on fire again, to name a few things in one’s lifetime. Change can be good, but adaptation might be better if it were quicker.
Russian missiles here, there, and up there come up every now and then. For the Russian folks, Tunguska, Chelyabinsk, and newer stellar observation data are very real concerns and reason enough to get motivated into preparing tactical preservation measures to keep Moscow and Red Square safer despite what weaponization implies to terrestrial fear mongers. It’s probably a reasonable assumption that China has concerns about preserving Beijing and Tiananmen Square, too. India is determined to send another lunar craft to the Moon, soon. One should note that Washington, DC, is close enough to those northern latitudes, too, where big rocks fall from the sky on similar latitudes. It’s a bit of a stretch that future big rock alignments, offered by those Milankovitch cycle positions, will move highly populated land masses out of the danger zone of impact. NASA is keeping track but does not know what it does not know, especially, some like those fly byes less than a lunar distance (LD) that have been detected at the last moments. And then there was Oumuamua that displayed an unusual interstellar flight acceleration – Suppose that could have been calculation errors in a fog due to human made debris floating around out there.
It wasn’t too long ago, about 12 years this January, that the US Navy, Missile Defense Agency, and Raytheon had to come up with a tactical maneuver to take out an out-of-control satellite coming down. It was an intercept mission that wasn’t planned for, but systems, sailors, Raytheon, and missile were team parts modified and adapted in a matter of weeks. The Aegis cruiser USS Lake Erie was assigned that mission. The team hit a speeding bullet with a speeding bullet in the right spot at the right time. That right-spot had to be the hydrazine fuel tank of the disabled satellite in the right spot, at the right altitude, and aligning the right trajectory for the remaining blast debris to burn up and that toxic fuel to vaporize out of harms-way. Needless to say, Russia, China, and allies watched with interest knowing that that satellite could easily be another one for another reason. One of those multi-whammies. In this case, a potential weapons system for taking out incoming asteroids and those other celestial objects some have suggested.

It will be interesting to see/experience the ‘interactions’ between current man-made global warming (the glaciers are indeed retreating in Alaska) and the non-human, long-period cycles due to orbital factors. One tends to cancel-out the other during this time period, of course…

I suspect most/all climate models do not incorporate possible changes in solar output due to the Sun’s interior being ‘churned’ in different ways via where the Solar System’s center-of-mass is located.

On the ‘shot-down’ satellite, this was a military operation to intercept and destroy a non-functioning National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) satellite. USA-193 malfunctioned shortly after launch, becoming uncontrollable. NRO made lots of noise about having to blow it up due to hydrazine-fuel dangers. However, the likely truth is that they did not want semi-intact (secret squirrel) pieces making it to the ground. So, boom rather than an intact re-entry…

One has reasonable suspicions that that satellite exercise and shoot down might have been instigated by parties with a scrupulously precise intent of blinding or making useless such an orbiting celestial object. Quite right about surviving gizmos and gadgets preferably getting reduced to dust and not making their way to some hostile back engineering table in a desert. In the last analysis that leaves the last decade or so occupied with refining that initial response from weeks to days or even a ready mobile tactical response. One needn’t any proof to know that the Navy is likely happy with some increases. They needed them.

When we stand back further and look at the tech we can see well and the tech we can almost see. – specifically plasma/ electro mag tech – one might expect these techs allow greater precision influence and control over such ‘natural’ events, objects, phenomena?

These announcements concerning asteroids (and other “celestial bodies”) could be interpreted in the Cosmic War context. The rocks themselves would be fragments of the deliberately exploded planet “Tiamat”. And it doesn’t take much imagination to find some pretty interesting synonyms for the term “celestial bodies”, if those ancient “warring gods” never actually went away.
Speaking of “celestial bodies” doing unusual things, there has apparently been a sighting over Southern England (verbal report, no photos).

How about those “drones” flying over eastern Colorado and Nebraska? Up to 30 “drones”, 6 foot wide, flying in formation, changing direction, hovering, splitting up and flying for hours, at night , at high speeds. My first bet on the drones is that they’re using infrared to inventory crops. Hence the night work. The tech is now cheap enough. The crops are now valuable enough to warrant it. Soon will come eradicating competitor’s crops. If i were growing my own i might want to find ways to keep it covert.

(1) On the ‘passive’ side: The next-next return of Apophis is in 2036. Due to the above ‘slingshot’ effect (plus outgassing and sunlight effects), they cannot precisely predict its orbit. Not to worry…
(2) On the ‘active’ side: With a 2029 near-miss of only 19,000 miles, it would not take much to ‘nudge’ Apophis into an Earth-intersecting orbit in 2029. If you do the nudge near Apophis’ apogee, it would take very little. Given that TPTB care little about the Earth and its population, this ‘situation’ warrants pre-planning. What a great distraction a large asteroid strike would make! Not to mention the possibilities within Problem -> Reaction -> Solution …

NASA has had fifty years to come up with a reliable and safe transport system to get us from the surface of Earth to orbit. But what did we get the Space Shuttle which was a dog and pony show from the start. Mine the asteroids and comets never going to happen our masters don’t want any of their property attempt to escape welcome to stalag Earth.
Nor do they want any of us commoners to profit off new tech. Or more than that they want to max what they can gouge the commoners in exchange for a tiny taste of the new tech. Anyone here familiar with electric cars before during and after tesla’s intro?
