JAPAN: THE TURN(ED)-KEY NUCLEAR POWER

This article was spotted by M.D., and it's a topic I've talked and blogged about before, but I want to do so again, because there's a geopolitical factor involved that I've not made clear before, and it needs to be explicitly mentioned, especially in today's insane geopolitical world.  The article, as you might have gathered from my blog title, is about Japan being a "turn-key" nuclear power, i.e., one of those few countries in the world that can become a nuclear power in a very short time, because it has all the infrastructure - including the necessary weapons grade nuclear fuel - to do so. Here's the article, and please note, this article is from 2014, but definitely worth revisiting today because of the implications, which we'll get to:

Japan Has Nuclear 'Bomb in the Basement,' and China Isn't Happy

Please note the following from the article, for these facts confirm my - and many others' - opinion that Japan is a "turn-key" nuclear power, and has been since the 1980s (and, if you've been paying attention, Germany and a couple of other surprising countries longer than that):

But government officials and proliferation experts say Japan is happy to let neighbors like China and North Korea believe it is part of the nuclear club, because it has a “bomb in the basement” -– the material and the means to produce nuclear weapons within six months, according to some estimates. And with tensions rising in the region, China’s belief in the “bomb in the basement” is strong enough that it has demanded Japan get rid of its massive stockpile of plutonium and drop plans to open a new breeder reactor this fall.

Japan signed the international Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which bans it from developing nuclear weapons, more than 40 years ago. But according to a senior Japanese government official deeply involved in the country’s nuclear energy program, Japan has been able to build nuclear weapons ever since it launched a plutonium breeder reactor and a uranium enrichment plant 30 years ago.

“Japan already has the technical capability, and has had it since the 1980s,” said the official. He said that once Japan had more than five to 10 kilograms of plutonium, the amount needed for a single weapon, it had “already gone over the threshold,” and had a nuclear deterrent.

Japan now has 9 tons of plutonium stockpiled at several locations in Japan and another 35 tons stored in France and the U.K. The material is enough to create 5,000 nuclear bombs. The country also has 1.2 tons of enriched uranium.

Now, remember, this was 2014.

The geopolitical situation in the world is a lot more grave, unstable, and just downright crazy today than it was in 1961-62, and it was pretty bad back then (I know, I was a small boy at the time, but remember it well). The rhetoric coming out of both Swampington and Moscow about nuclear war is the highest since the period from the Soviet detonation of the "Tsar bomba" in 1961, to the Cuban Missile crisis of 1962, a period of roughly a year, when Soviet UN Ambassador Zorin and  American UN Ambassador Adlai Stevenson seemed to outbid each other for heated rhetoric... not a good thing in a world dealing with 57 megaton yield hydrogen bombs and missiles in Cuba that could deliver them... even less so in a world like today, where the bombs are much smaller but much more accurate, and riding on re-targetable hyper-sonic missiles.

Here I want to indulge in a bit of high octane speculation by way of a "revision and extension of hypothesis" that countries like Japan, Germany, and, yes, possibly Taiwan, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, and so on, are turn-key  nuclear powers. You'll note that some of those powers have been much in the news lately, from Russia warning Sweden not to join NATO, to China violating Taiwanese air space with seeming impunity, and to Japan quietly but firmly extending its own umbrella of protection over the island.

By turn-key nuclear power, I have literally meant the idea that a nation - such as Japan - with a large nuclear power infrastructure and great technological and engineering capability, could indeed literally build all the parts for nuclear weapons and thermonuclear weapons, and have them ready to be assembled for deployment on short notice, and probably without any need to publicly test them...

...and therein is the rub, and the nasty uncertainty about geopolitical calculation: a "turn-key" nuclear power can just as easily become a "turned-key" nuclear power, and few, if anyone, would be the wiser. After all, if one has secretly and covertly manufactured the components of a nuclear or thermonuclear weapon and literally kept them in a basement, why not simply assemble a few... and tell no one?

It's this element of the unpredictability of the "turned-key" nuclear powers - and remember, Japan is not the only country capable of this - and the proliferation problem becomes a nightmare. Indeed, a "turned-key" nuclear power could assemble, and then secretly sell, such weapons to non-state actors.

How might one be able to determine if a nation was a "turned-key" nuclear power. One obvious indicator has already been mentioned: does the country have the nuclear infrastructure? When did it close the fuel cycle? How competent are its enrichment and engineering processes? and so on. That list is fairly short, but it's growing, and you can number Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Argentina, Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Germany (which of course under Merkel said it was going to shut down all its nuclear plants) and a few others in that list.

A much more important indicator, however, would seem to me to be the rhetoric and military posture and policy the country has been adopting, and its interesting to note that Japan has been quietly warning North Korea about its ability as a turn-key nuclear power, has been extending military guarantees to Taiwan, signed bi-lateral military logistical support treaties with India, and... well, you get the picture. Does that mean that Japan is a turned-key nuclear power? No, certainly not. But it does suggest the possibility that it's a contender... and they'll never tell either, because that's the only way to keep Moscow, Beijing, and - yes - Swamington from running amok. It's no longer a game of "mutually assured destruction!" but rather a game of "mutually assured destruction?"

See you on the flip side...

” He was awarded the academic degree of candidate of technical sciences on 27 November 1954, on the basis of the thesis entitled: “Impact stability of bars” (the thesis supervisor was Professor Stefan Zięba). On 21 September 1961, following an amendment to the Act on Academic Degrees and Titles, he was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences by virtue of law. He received his habilitation degree from the IPPT PAN in 1956, based on the thesis entitled: Some boundary problems of the dynamic theory of elasticity and inelastic bodies[2]. Both theses were classified and concerned de facto technical problems of the construction of combat missiles.

He received the title of associate professor in 1958 and the title of full professor in 1961. From 1962 he was a correspondent member and from 1969 a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

In 1976 he established the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microsynthesis and became its first director. In 1973 he conducted an experiment in controlled thermonuclear microsynthesis, achieving a plasma temperature of 10 million degrees (the so-called Focus experiment). He was an outstanding specialist in the field of coupled field theory, thermonuclear research, and the creator of Polish electronophonics.

He proposed a theory of continuous amplification of ultrasound and hypersonics in semiconductor crystals. He initiated Polish research into thermonuclear microsynthesis using laser.

From 1959, he was the editor-in-chief of the Proceedings of Vibration Problems and then of the Journal of Technical Physics.

He published about 550 scientific papers, including the book Lasers – nuclear fusion (volume 284 of the Omega publishing series, Warsaw 1975). His last paper: The neutron yield during explosively excited deuterium-tritium compression in a cylindrical system with a layer of high inertia was published after his death – in 1979, in the “Journal of Technical Physics”. He was the author of many important inventions, which were patented at home and abroad.

From 28 January 1959 he was a member of the Polish United Workers’ Party, in the years 1975-1978 a member of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party, a member of the Sejm of the Polish People’s Republic for the 6th and 7th term of office, the chairman of the Sejm Science and Technical Progress Committee, in the years 1974-1978 the minister of science, higher education and technology.”

He received honorary doctorates from the Moscow State University and the Sofia University, as well as many awards, including the Maximilian Tytus Huber Award (1954, 1957) and the First Degree State Award four times (1964, 1970, 1974, 1978), and twice the award of the Minister of National Defence (1958 and 1968 – First Degree).

    Circumstances of death
    Edit
He died on 16 September 1978 in the Central Clinical Hospital of the Military Medical Academy in Warsaw as a result of serious injuries sustained on 5 August 1978 in a car accident near Mostowo near Koszalin (he was driving a Fiat 132-2000, reg. no. WAA 114C, his wife was seriously wounded and permanently paralysed)[3]. He was buried on 19 September 1978 at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw (section B4-tuje-6)[4]. The funeral of Major General Sylwester Kaliski was attended by, among others, the Chairman of the State Council, Prof. Henryk Jabłoński, the Prime Minister Piotr Jaroszewicz and the Minister of National Defence, General of Army Wojciech Jaruzelski.

This is about gen. Kaliński, he invented 3-stage chemical kinetic detonator ( very similar to HEAT warhead) with which he achieved microfusion in 1978 (deuterium-tritium ignited to 10 million Centigrade for a brief period of time). Doctor , to create thermonuclear warhead there is no need to have nuclear warhead as detonator.

While we are on the subject of nuclear weapons may I recommend a book I am now reading Hitler’s Secret Weapons Of Mass Destruction by Michael Fitzgerald. In chapter seven he backs up your idea that the NAZIS succeeded in creating a nuclear weapon since both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombs weighed about five tons, they would have had to use bombs weighing about a ton or less and use serval on one target means of delivery the V-2 or faster V-1.

Decades since I flew and all those years I’ve had to wonder how those aircraft made it out safely after dropping those bombs. I still wonder. That whole narrative is so flawed top to bottom, it makes more sense if it was all a cover story for some other form of attack used. Something I read years ago laid out how some other devices were used from the ground. Ground zero on both cities was direct center on large Cathedrals. The Jesuit priests running those facilities in Japan back then had questionable histories according to this narrative.

I wonder why Japan has 35 tons of its plutonium stockpile stored in France and the UK. Are there plutonium depositories like gold bullion depositories? Seems like it would be a lot of trouble and expense to ship their plutonium to the other side of the world for storage. Unless there is a financial incentive for Japan to do so.

Here’s a thought: perhaps storing nuclear materials in GOLD containment vessels for transport has something to do with it. — eh?

I think we need to look at what the more correct translation of “elohim” is. It was translated “God” in the Bible we have been using. However, it is a plural word, so should have been translated “gods”. Also, there are no capital letters in the Hebrew, nor any vowels. My conclusion after 70 years within the “Christian System” is that our Bible has just been one part of the Control Mechanism used by our Controllers!!

I would say it has done a good job if that is what it was designed for!!! Many quote “We were created a little lower than the angels” which is a direct mistranslation from the Psalms! What it says is that “we were created a little lower than the ‘elohim’ “. That makes much more sense. Clearly, there was another race of beings & we, as the Human Race, are “lower” than they!

How about the thought that we take ALL the Ancient Writings, put them together to figure out about our past. Quite clearly, we have been lied to about everything since our birth!!

      • Nidster - on May 6, 2022 at 12:28 am

You may be closer to understanding what is most likely closer to the way things started on Earth. Perhaps a more correct translation of “elohim” can be discovered. The good doctor who started this site did go into much more detail about who, and how ‘things’ probably started long, long ago. For instance, he relied extensively on some ancient tablets that tell a ‘story’ of primordial Deities that were told, and then retold, and finally ‘written-in-clay’ about Mesopotamian Mythology. They were aka the Sumerian Mythology. The ‘stories’ were then later re-written by some clever folks, so we learned, who were once held captive as slaves by the Egyptians, Babalonians, and other nations. It’s a long, long, long tale, and who knows for sure how correct they all are?

The main takeaway for me is the knowledge that those ancient ‘stories’ may be somewhat, but not fully correct. So, in the final analysis they do not carry enough weight to get ‘us’ out of the mess we are currently living through these days, Just my opinion that is backed with decades of research.

With perhaps one exception. Consider the acheivement of someone who earned a doctorate in Patristics from a very well respected universtity. He verbally admitted to the late great Georgeann Hughes he believes in Christ. I believe he is very astute, and did his research of the writers of the New Testament well enough, and that is good enough for me.

Further thoughts, read very carefully the books we have been handed down, because it is not beyond a person’s imagination to think, and understand how those ‘words’ were written down by the scribes prior to the invention of the printing press. Were not the words read by someone, and then the scribes wrote down those words?

Angels… Who, or what are angels but Heavenly creatures? If only a third of them were swept from Heaven during some Rebellion that could amount to a large, large number. Just a thought, but even using old technology a person in Venice hundreds of years ago could see trillons upon trillions of stars in every direction when looking through a telescope.

Final thought: little to no evidence exits that convinces me there is any means by which a firmly commited person to do ‘good’ to every other person can be corrupted.

        • Loxie Lou Davie on May 6, 2022 at 12:33 pm

I “get” what you are saying, Nidster…..but at age 77 & having been within the System of Christianity my entire life, I was forced to go down the Rabbit Hole of, “What is wrong with this System that it doesn’t really work or do what it claims to be able to do?”

What I really would like to know is…. who, exactly, decided only these 66 books should be included in The Bible? Also, who decided we should call it THE Word of God? I am in no way “attacking” Joseph & he is intelligent enough to know that…..I am just a Grandmother who would like to understand what has been going on with this Control System.

For instance…..Do we really KNOW what Jesus said or didn’t say? We have to take someone else’s opinion of what he said or didn’t say. We have no Original Documents concerning the above. At this stage, I am more inclined to agree with Giordano Bruno that there is no need for a “revelation” because none of us can speak for the Cosmos! All we know for certain is…..”I AM”!! Supposedly, Jesus said that himself.

          • Nidster - on May 7, 2022 at 2:32 pm

OK, Loxie Lou, I sorta understand what your underlying issues might be, and we all struggle with certain issues. For me a Pathway was opened through adversity in my life, but your issue sounds different. Whatever the situation the solution is so straightforward that it will seem to be almost too simple, but it will work for you. So, first just keep it simple, and stay with the basics. No ‘System’ is needed. Ask for Faith, Discernment, Wisdom, and Love. Then keep praying, and praying, and all will be given. All these attributes will be added into your Life, and your grandchildren will also benefit from your love and increased Faith. Next, do not worry too much about which ‘scriptures’, or other books to read, or study. But, for me it was listening to an audio of the Book of John over, and over many times. The strong point about that book is there is virtually no Doctrine in the Book of John. No System is needed, and if you recall it was Christ who upset the prevailing Systems during his time on Earth. And finally, my word to the wise is to be wary of any books written by the so-called 13th apostle, and his highly controlled System of Religion. One of its main benefits is that it is a ‘case study’ on how a person can establish a system of control over the lives of other folks. All the best to you!

Celestial plurality is wandering stars, reflected in weekdays of a workweek. Tungols have cycles, and most prominent is the sun, whose cycle – around the zodiac – coincides with the seasonal changes.

Day rises in east, and sets in west. Zenith of longest day is in south, and nadir of longest night is in north. Thus, both year and day are fixated by the compass.

The major directions are given, by four rivers from a common source, and that is a compass, and, when used as timekeeper, it is called sundial.

Conclusion is, that the dual concept Elohim-Yahweh is a stargazer-farmer year, a compass derivative, in a secular framework.

BTW, winter solstice and father yuletide coexist, and are not mutually exclusive. All stargazers were once children, and early development of the brain demands simplicity in playground, before grasping abstract geometry of calendar calculations.

    China isn’t happy w/Japan period.
At least, not until Japan has become “harmonized”.
[China’s Borg word for: assimilated into the collective].
Perhaps why China has become a “natural” for the WEF’s/Davos – Borg ambitions?
The WEF may have second-thoughts – its never been other than China’s goal to be in charge.

It is interesting, this fixation w/nuclear weapons; when there appears to be more exotic weapons on calibre w/next generation capabilities, that nuclear doesn’t possess.
Does nuclear means, the property is destroyed? [no virtuality about it?]

An analogy would be as in the animal kingdom,
where a predator/nation state would mark his territory w/urine/musk/in a nuclear sense.

    I wonder about the “alien” presence, in the sense that nuclear is a signal;
    a stacked signal, that is?

As Rafael Sabatini wrote about Scaramouche’s birth – he was born w/a gift of laughter
and a sense that the world was mad. And that was all his patrimony.

    • FiatLux on May 4, 2022 at 2:57 pm

I, too, have thought it’s odd that there’s been so much rhetoric in the media about nuclear war, when the major powers almost certainly have more sophisticated weaponry. On the other hand, they’re not going to come out and admit they’ve been developing and deploying covert weapons. Maybe there’s a case to be made for using nukes in some situations? I don’t know anything about military matters.

There is a plausible and credible hypothesis that the world has been here before and humans reached a technologically advanced state of civilization, but destroyed itself with nuclear war. We have reached this key pivotal moment in time again. Time is cyclical – not linear.
Indeed, Japan has archaeological evidence to support the destroyed Planet Earth hypothesis in the city of Osaka where at the Castle there are remains of an ancient port and harbour walls constructed with massive stones (not a castle which is just a modern interpretation of them).

Fascinatingly, two time capsules identical in every detail were buried in 1970 adjacent to Osaka Castle by Panasonic and Mainichi Newspapers. The lower capsule will remain buried for 5,000 years; the upper capsule will be opened for the first time in the year 2,000 and every 100 years thereafter.

Isolating your subjects is one of the oldest powerful techniques in authoritarian systems. Aristotle imperative, no fraternization; tyrants must stifle everything that might give rise to two qualities: self-assurance & trust. Citizens must be estranged from each other. For if they become properly acquainted they begin to trust each other.

Total ‘head fake’ between Russia and Japan….. That move was a 6th, or 7th dimensional game-play. Considering both Russia and Japan need to keep the ‘dragon’ guessing, and the need to keep China in its ‘smiling’ Panda face, and from showing its ‘snarling’ red dragon face there was a brilliant, strategic, political move between Russia and Japan. Russia still has a direct railway line all the way into Tokyo. Those folks still send and recieve regularly scheduled loads of ‘stuff’ through the Kuril Islands, and across Siberia, between Tokyo and Moscow.

Listen closely folks: If not for Taiwan where would the world’s supply of semi-conductors for all of our computers come from? Ask yourself, “Do both Russia and Japan need a steady, reliable supply of semi-conductors for their Space Ventures, and-or ‘other’ ambitious ventures”? Russia may have gotten the ‘green light’ from China to invade the Ukraine, but I seriously doubt Russia gave any quid pro quo for an invasion of Taiwan. Think ’bout’ that very carefully.
