Also, a highly important piece of information was not conveyed properly in the ZeroHedge ‘article’, so here it is from RT News in which Putin also stated.
“We reserve a right to use nuclear weapons in case of aggression against Russia and Belarus.”
Russia has, in no uncertain terms, said it’s…
World War if The Ukraine strike with long range missiles.
That would require NATO involvement.
That would require Russia to strike back – at NATO.
The question?
Is NATO that criminally insane?
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently stated the Russian nuclear doctrine is a live document, which COULD BE amended whenever it is necessary. He also underscored that it is assumed a nuclear exchange will never happen.
In my humble opinion / analysis this is to clarify Russia’s position, and is in response to NATO bolstering the armaments, and manpower of the Ukrainian armed forces within the past few months.

Just remembered something significant: Let us not overlook the fact that when the Soviets gave the Ukraine its independence, it was partially based on the Ukraine giving up its nuclear arsenal, and a solemn promise the Ukraine would never join the NATO Alliance, but then the Orange Revolution happened. Is my memory correct?
