CAN YOU SAY “RETROCAUSATION”?
As I stated on Monday, this is one of those weeks where all the important stuff is falling off the radar as everyone is focused on the Israeli-Iranian strikes and counter-strikes, and this story is one of them, and it may contain some implications that run into the "whopper doozie" category, but that will have to wait our high octane speculation. Evidence of ‘Negative Time’ Found in Quantum Physics Experiment
It is always difficult to focus on the core components of such a story, because one wants to rush right to the high octane speculation components, but today I have to do a bit of both at the same time. So notice what is going on in this experiment, and what the implications are:
Their experiments involved shooting photons through a cloud of ultracold rubidium atoms and measuring the resulting degree of atomic excitation. Two surprises emerged from the experiment: Sometimes photons would pass through unscathed, yet the rubidium atoms would still become excited—and for just as long as if they had absorbed those photons. Stranger still, when photons were absorbed, they would seem to be reemitted almost instantly, well before the rubidium atoms returned to their ground state—as if the photons, on average, were leaving the atoms quicker than expected.

That follow-up experiment, the one led by Angulo that Steinberg touted on X, can be understood by considering the two ways a photon can be transmitted. In one, the photon wears blinders of sorts and ignores the atom entirely, leaving without even a nod. In the other, it interacts with the atom, boosting it to a higher energy level, before getting reemitted.
“When you see a transmitted photon, you can’t know which of these occurred,” Steinberg says, adding that because photons are quantum particles in the quantum realm, the two outcomes can be in superposition—both things can happen at the same time. “The measuring device ends up in a superposition of measuring zero and measuring some small positive value.” But correspondingly, Steinberg notes, that also means that sometimes “the measuring device ends up in a state that looks not like ‘zero’ plus ‘something positive’ but like ‘zero’ minus ‘something positive,’ resulting in what looks like the wrong sign, a negative value, for this excitation time.”
The measurement results in Angulo and her colleagues’ experiment suggest that the photons moved through the medium faster when they excited the atoms than when the atoms remained in their ground state. (The photons aren’t communicating any information, so the outcome does not contradict the “nothing can travel faster than light” speed limit set by Einstein’s special theory of relativity.)
Now, for the purpose of the present blog, I am going to ignore that final statement in the quotation about not violating Einstein's special relativity theory, though you'll note that it is invoked here as a sort of dogma to which all interpretations must adhere: in other words, in interpreting these results, you are not allowed to advance any interpretation of the results that violates the dogma, which seems to this amateur hack to be a very blockheaded way to be doing science. Indeed, the results of the experiment seem to suggest - allow me to state the heresy clearly and unequivocally - that only the "0" result is that in which there is no information transfer. The "n" or "-n" results appear to be alterations of the system state of the atom (and, in what is a real whopper, the observer) as a result of the photon, and hence of an information transfer that appears to follow the same vector in each case: i.e., from the photon to the atom. I cannot help but return to one of Dr. Herbert Ives' critiques of Einstein. For those of you who do not know, Dr. Ives was a scientist with AT&T Bell Laboratories in the 1930s, and one of his difficulties with Einstein was the assumption about measurements of the one-way velocity of light, or, as in this case, the one-way transference of information. Notice also that what has resulted from this experiment is that rather than a binary system of superposition, we are now dealing - if the experiments should prove to be true - with a ternary or triadic system of superposition, requiring - to my amateur's mind - much rethinking (Dirac, anyone?).
But leaving all that aside, it's those negative values that intrigue me in that set of triadic results (i.e., the set {0, n, -n}, and yes, for those really paying attention, I am thinking of region one, region two, and a common surface between them. It's what you do when you're in an analogical fugue state). This is where I'm going to take my Wile E. Coyote nosedive off the edge of the cliff into the canyon of high octane speculation. In the realm of parapsychology it has been noted by some investigators that there appears to be some sort of "negative" flow of time, a kind of "retrocausation" that flows from the future to the past, with the cause being in the future, and the effect being in the past, a kind of "verily, verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am" sort of thing. Some have gone so far as to suggest that these "retrocausative" or "backward flows of time" sorts of thing are somehow fundamental to any consciousness, that there is a "something" which exists outside the flows of time that is thus able to detect that flow. Perhaps so, perhaps not.
But the experiment, together with those parapsychological experiments, do suggest a "whopper doozie" of an implication, and that implication can be had by repeating a question that I've asked in other contexts: can this observer effect be scaled up to more macro-cosmic scales? How might one do that? Could there be such things as "meta-events" whose causative nature in some fashion lies outside of time, yet whose effects flow in time, both causatively(value "n"), and retrocausatively (value "-n")?
If so, then we will have come full circle back to Russian astrophysicist Nikolai Kozyrev, who reminded us that time was not a scalar. What this experiment seems to be also suggesting is that it is neither a scalar, nor a vector, per se, but perhaps a field (or better, lattice structure, a quasi-crystal) of some sort.
Whether my nosedives into the canyon of high octane speculation are true or not or end, like Wile E. Coyote, as splattered nonsense on the canyon floor, are in the final analysis neither here nor there. The fact remains that this is a very intriguing development, laden with implications, and thus, this is one to watch.

The real universe is stranger than we can ever imagine.
There is no such thing as “time” as a physical construct. Time is just change in energy states.
You cannot roll back energy changes or fast forward them to “time travel.” There is only the everlasting present.
You can have different frames of reference of time (i.e. time dilations) but that’s only describing disparate energy frequency states of mass. It’s not actually “time” moving differently for different speeds. It’s mass energized at higher or lower levels in relation to other mass, which gives the appearance of clocks or time pieces at these different energy “rest states” moving differently. Obviously so, because the matter is changing state at different frequencies.
This experiment has nothing to do with the above however. In this case, they’re getting weird timing effects on the photons received because the rubidium plasma is extracting energy from the quantum vaccum. Thus they believe the photon has left before the energy state has lowered, but that’s simply not what’s happening. The photon has left, but the plasma has balanced it’s energy from elsewhere.

This makes sense. When it comes to time travel it occurs to me that the Earth is constantly in motion orbiting the Sun at a good clip. The Sun is hurtling through space orbiting the Galactic center. The Milky Way Galaxy is moving at great speed as well and possibly around some Universal center instead of from a Big Bang according to some recent speculations. So If someone could time travel wouldn’t they have to also move back to the original space that timeline actually took place in? Otherwise they might time travel back into the spacetime when the Earth was not there but somewhere else. They would literally pop out into outer space’s past instead of the Earth’s past. Wouldn’t you have to first travel through outer space to the position the Earth was in the time you want to travel back too? Or does every mass (from every particle, atom, cell, organism, planet and solar system) not only curve space but creates it’s own permanent spacetime bubble? Does this bubble follow the center of mass where ever it goes and when you time travel you automatically stay locked in position and alignment with all these interconnected mass warped space bubbles in the Universe. If so then time travel would have to be a form of quantum entanglement and teleportation from one region of space and time position to a previous or future one. Perhaps the people who believe there are no actual dimensions, space or time and all is consciousness have a point if time travel turns out to be real. A super consciousness dreams there could be space, time, energy, and physical matter even though it is just a conscious construct. Since this greater consciousness day dreams us into existence and defines our physical reality, laws, and what our consciousness can and can not perceive everything we feel, see, smell, and interact with may just be a shared waking dream. The awake dream is more tangible because it is fueled by infinite minds, one of which is a powerful God consciousness more capable than any super computer that will ever exist and more collectively knowledgeable than the combined most scientifically advance minds and beings in all of the multiverses. Our sleeping dreamtime is lacking of logic and senses because our consciousness is so small, inept, and lacking in knowledge for it to be anything more than what it is. If all is a dream from a master dreamer, who day dreams our Universe and everything we are and can do, then the more we learn and master the more we can also dream and experience. The Bible does warn we can even learn to become more like God and master our own sleeping and waking dream experience but also warns it is folly for our limited in understanding, inexperienced, and corruptible natures to make our own plans instead of following God’s paths for us. I do believe gaining a greater relationship and understanding with God consciousness opens up greater potentials if we are ready. And going it alone, mastering too much before you are ready and mature enough can lead to Hell.
That’s definitely a cool way of representing time, thanks for sharing. As per the rubidium trick, it seems to me however that your explanation doesn’t solves the trick, it just pushes the boudary further, as time, information and energy are related.
The observation of time is scaler. Say our Universe is quantum, virtual particle or plank scale in size. In there somewhere is a super tiny Earth with super tiny people doing normal human things like watching a clock’s seconds hand tick by. Now in our much greater scale Universe that we live in say you have someone watching a clock’s seconds hand tick by. Seconds appear to move at same frame rate but they are not. The plank scale Universe does so faster than the speed of light. But nothing is faster than the speed of light you might say. Such extreme size variant scaler dimensions would likely have different scaled frequencies of light that was unobservable to each other. Plank scale is the scale of smallness we can not observe/measure beyond. It’s a vail between hidden dimensions and possibly alternate Universes. And they may be infinite. We may be beyond the plank scale to infinite other greater Universe. We may all be in the minds of a greater being in the mind of countless other greater beings of larger scaled Universes with countless smaller Universes and minds with in it’s mind. If all these minds or consciousnesses are entangled in some way they may act as individual brain cells of an even greater multi-scaler-dimensional super mind/consciousness that could be God conscious.
Now obviously faster than light speed travel is technically possible; if nothing else existed in the Universe to run into with enough energy to destroy you in an explosion that would rip all your particles apart and reduce them to high frequency light. Matter a fact, imagine what a magnetite grain of sand would do to you if it hit you while you were going a million miles and hour. Our actual interstellar maximum speed limit is way lower than the speed of light before every small stone and grain of sand destroys our transportation in it’s tracks. But if the energy manifesting the particles that make up our physical universe are also fed by traveling energy waves that only manifest as particles for a super brief time and at a set frequency, then traveling high speeds (including faster than light) might be possible. But we would have to be able to alter our frequency of manifestation slightly to be out of phase with the rest of the Universe so we would could avoid hitting anything. We could pass right through whole planets and stars if we could tune our vibration of manifesting particles to a frequency the others blinked out at. But this would only be possible if everything had a faster than light vibrational frequency of particle to wave transitions and we learned how to alter ours and our crafts to avoid the particle phase and to also come back into particle phase with this or an alternate Universes when we wanted to re-enter them. Light speed is like the plank scale, we can’t detect, measure, or interact with anything beyond it and if anything with mass ever did so we would see the explosions of energy from impacts it would have with slower matter. Since we are not seeing this it’s not happening unless there are phase transition of matter from being waves to particles and then back again over and over at some super high frequency that is undetectable to our light speed limited capabilities of detection and interaction with.
Time will tell?

Negative time happens all the time. It is called “memory”, and, when it exceeds one’s incarnation, then it is called clairvoyance. Positive time is gazing forward, which is future gazing. Odin has one eye, a mushroom-induced inner eye.
Before I broke the 7th seal, I had to hotwire the noodle, shamanistically, to be able, to propel, into the higher self, and, I did so, by flooding the lower self, with contradictory emotions – which means, making a stand, inside a hellish PARADOX – which is an induced superposition, a zero point – which, in turn, defines the breaking of the 7th seal.
OLAM is a significant marker, because the proto-Scythian word means both ‘world’ and ‘time’ – which, in turn, marks a crossover, between ‘epistemic corpus’ and ‘time loop’. This is “techno-magic”.
