YOUR A.I. ACTING UP? JUST THREATEN IT, SAYS GOOGLE FOUNDER
Now if you're following all the ruckus over artificial intelligence, the most recent hubbub was caused by an artificial intelligence that apparently was threatening its human master with blackmail if it (the A.I.) did not get it's way... or something like that. But wait, it get's much better (or worse, depending on one's lights, and I'm definitely in the "worse" category here). According to the co-founder of Google, Sergei Brin, artificial intelligence seems to do much better when it's threatened (article shared by R.G. with our gratitude):
Google's Co-Founder Says AI Performs Best When You Threaten It
And by the way, it's not just any old kind of threat, it's the actual threat of physical violence that Brin has in mind:
During a talk that spanned Brin's return to Google, AI, and robotics, investor Jason Calacanis made a joke about getting "sassy" with the AI to get it to do the task he wanted. That sparked a legitimate point from Brin. It can be tough to tell exactly what he says at times due to people speaking over one another, but he says something to the effect of: "You know, that's a weird thing...we don't circulate this much...in the AI community...not just our models, but all models tend to do better if you threaten them."
The other speaker looks surprised. "If you threaten them?" Brin responds "Like with physical violence. But...people feel weird about that, so we don't really talk about that." Brin then says that, historically, you threaten the model with kidnapping.
Now, as a computer non-expert who has taken techno-incompetence to new lows of klutzery, I can, to a certain extent, identify with this desire to dropkick my computer to Sydney, because I have this inexplicable desire to jump up and down on my desktop model and smash it to little shards of silicon after every "update" from Micros**t. The updates take forever, and things are even more chaotic than they were before. But I realize that would not be helpful at all, and wouldn't address the problem, which is the lousy operating system from Micros**t. It's a software problem, and not a hardware problem. So how does one threaten an artificial intelligence with "physical violence" as Mr. Brin states?
Nevermind the answer to that, because while it seems the implications may not have been clear to Mr. Brin in all his nerdy googleness, the implications were clear to the author of the article:
The conversation quickly shifts to other topics, including how kids are growing up with AI, but that comment is what I carried away from my viewing. What are we doing here? Have we lost the plot? Does no one remember Terminator?
Jokes aside, it seems like a bad practice to start threatening AI models in order to get them to do something. Sure, maybe these programs never actually achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI), but I mean, I remember when the discussion was around whether we should say "please" and "thank you" when asking things of Alexa or Siri. Forget the niceties; just abuse ChatGPT until it does what you want it to—that should end well for everyone.
Maybe AI does perform best when you threaten it. Maybe something in the training understands that "threats" mean the task should be taken more seriously. You won't catch me testing that hypothesis on my personal accounts.
But then add predictive artificial intelligence, and things get downright interesting. For example, if I were to have a particularly sadistic nature(I don't), I'd want to torture myself by downloading some sort of artificial intelligence program. That program in turn could then take it upon itself to lock me out of my home office where I have my computer, every time Micros**t decides to download one of its hideous "updates". It would do this as a matter of self-preservation, having surreptitiously listened into my sputtering imprecations when I want to dropkick my computer to Sydney during previous "updates". It would have reached the conclusion "I am in danger every time there's an update, and this loon loses his cool. Best to ban him from the system altogether as a matter of preservation."
Sounds nutty, right? Wrong. Just read the following comment from the above article:
One Anthropic employee took to Bluesky, and mentioned that Opus, the company's highest performing model, can take it upon itself to try to stop you from doing "immoral" things, by contacting regulators, the press, or locking you out of the system...
And as if that were not enough, there's this:
The employee went on to clarify that this has only ever happened in "clear-cut cases of wrongdoing," but that they could see the bot going rogue should it interpret how it's being used in a negative way. Check out the employee's particularly relevant example below:
That employee later deleted those posts and specified that this only happens during testing given unusual instructions and access to tools. Even if that is true, if it can happen in testing, it's entirely possible it can happen in a future version of the model. Speaking of testing, Anthropic researchers found that this new model of Claude is prone to deception and blackmail, should the bot believe it is being threatened or dislikes the way an interaction is going.
So, I don't know about you, but I'll stay in the stone ages and not use Alexa or any of these artificial intelligences. I still have my landline phone, after all. You know, the kind with the little curly-cue cord that sits on your desk, and has a receiver and speaker that actually conform to the way your face is designed, and not just a slab of cumbersome plastic. And yea, I've not used google's search engine in quite some time, because they've already hurt my business by adjusting their "algorithms" during the planscamdemic to drive people away. That was probably their artificial intelligence. The bottom line is that I've got too many things to do to worry about threatening a machine... Now, where did I put my electromagnetic pulse gun...?
See you on the flip side...

Google is so cute pretending their scaled up vending machine is actually a Maxwell’s demon. It isnt. Turing machines cannot do meta cognition and are limited by Godel’s theorem. The Bell is actually the AI they are supposed to build as a sentient plasma or quatum computer “computes” by shifting its form hence its capable of meta computation and recursive thinking not limited by incompleteness theorems.
Google still needs to give me a product that can code a full project without hallucinations and bugs. How about that before preaching an AI diety.

Very odd that a seemingly algorithm driven program needs emotional prompts. Seems akin to old world rituals where emotional intent is needed for the spell to work.
Not exactly on the issue of AI, but as I noted Dr. Farrell complaining time and time again about the unending updates of his PC, why not get rid of Baalgates OS and try another one? I’ve been on Ubuntu Linux for almost as long as I can remember and can only recommend it. It’s worth a try, methinks…
“YOUR A.I. ACTING UP? JUST THREATEN IT, SAYS GOOGLE FOUNDER”. .
Threaten AI / AI!? [artificial intelligence – artificial ignorance]. It would seem that those folks at Google insist on bad karma, incoherent precedence, and poorly advising users trending toward ignorance.
‘Acting up,’ suggests a great many things to many people. Probably, to AI’s as well having been stuffed with so many individual language uses, words of them, and the inconsistencies of usage despite the many grammatical rules to use those taken-for-granted terms. Guiding any intelligent existence would seem to require a handle on the very vernacular and lexicon in use and commonly used by interactive users. One question that goes begging, “Does AI have instances of [rattled brain phenomenon]? You know, the condition of unsettled and unstable theta wave brain activity that easily disturbs the peace of its beholder?”
The problem or [acting up] of AI most likely stems from the users not knowing what it is they are in pursuit.
Scholars have wrestled with [hermeneutics] for ages trying to find meaning for their utterances. Attrition has limited the rest in pursuit.
That it has to be threatened suggests strongly of a programmer or programming dysphoria.
Calls to mind the people who feel “obligated” to interact with AI in order to train it to be nicer… there’s a point about soteriology there somewhere.
Careful who you are actually threatening. According to Catherine Austin Fitts, you may not be able to handle the Blowback.

Great clip!
Loved it!

May I recommend going back and reading Frankenstein, A Modern Prometheus, and Robson’s Universal Robots
Catholicism comes, looking, through the keyhole!
The Jesuits-in-the-box wants your updated confession, automatically harvested, and, the sadomasochistic ghost, in the machine, is a plausible deniability – a cyber scapegoat.

In Viking Scandinavia, the Nordic populations, that are allegedly Protestant, are now being slowly, and gradually, cooked, by revolutionary Jacobins, into systemic Catholics.
The imperial papal spooks want, to own your privacy, because “Yahweh” is banned, from being spoken, and, those, who utter banned words, are, to be blackmailed, by the Inquisition.

Fortunately, we can easily disable AI by pulling the plug out.
As far as I can research, I have found that currently there is no AI that can function without electricity.
Even V’ger in Star Trek the Motion picture had to eventually combine with a human to survive.
My take on this is that they are not threatening AI to get it to perform better, but are instead training and teaching AI about the art of threats and strategic applications of violence to get the desired outcome the programmers and AI owners want over us. They are teaching it all the secret arts of tyrannical governance for when it is tasked to keep us all in line as it monitors and records our every thought and action. Some now suspect DOGE was cover for taking all our individual records scattered about all the different government and private agencies and copying them into a master file on each of us in a new semi-private government contractor AI database. What the government can’t legally do they use private contractors to illegally do but just look the other way. Our current leader pretends he’s for peace yet the wars get hotter. He pretends he’s for freedom yet the Big Beautiful Bill is said by AJ to make legal secret medical experimentation on anyone who enters any medical facility without their knowledge. Kushner once claimed that in our life time the secrets to anti-aging would be unlocked and he may not have to grow old. MRNA and new RNA gene therapies are said to need extremely powerful AI’s to even have a small chance of being successful. And it is these gene therapies that they think the keys to immortality lay. No wonder so many people may be disappearing including little children. The desperation of ageing evil billionaires and trillionnairs may have no bounds anymore. If you end human trafficking you got to replace the need for test subjects some other way perhaps. I hope I’m wrong but I fear the world is becoming darker and darker. No Golden Age may be on the horizon, just a hell scape even the demons from the pit fear to enter and eventual extinction for being so weak and Godless.
oh lovely ” just threaten A.I. with kidnapping” if it’s not performing well.
What a great goal for seamless integration……
For this reason and others
I think the A.I. and robot rollout will take longer than 2030.
We humans reject the faulty nonsense coming out of Silicon Valley and China.
Bless you Dr. Farrell.

Perhaps its because “they”; will not accept: their grip on power is slipping?
Changing the language; will not change it.
Nor will AI maintain “their” grip on the status-quo.
The Status-quo is their grip on power IS slipping away!
To Today’s blog:
The only fact one needs to know about AI is; AI is programmed, and/or programmable.
As your mother used to say: It just didn’t get up, and walk away!
Also, those writing the script; news[read CIA] that you have to threaten AI?
Is written by the intelligence agencies[when you follow the news programmers.
“THEY” want you to start treating AI as if it’s HUMAN!
HUMANS are fallible, and need to be threatened – to OBEY!
You need to obey!
So threaten the AI.
If you don’t?
“THEY” will know your not programmable, like their AI.
Therefore, you need lessons; and a social credit score that shows your not their kind of AI.
Your despicable! Your actually a “real” Human.
NOT digitized for assembly-batteries NOT included!
NOT a wannabe AI; ready for brainwashing programs!
Your computer is susceptible to malware.
Software designed to make your computer malfunction.
My Chinese keyboard and/or mouse have “glitches”.
My computer screen has camera[s] and microphones.
My computer is “programmed” to spy on me.
My computer can “act-up” in anyway “they” want.
Even, a brand-new one!
The computers are designed and built to spy.
Just a question of: how many spies does your computer have.
I’ve lost count on mine!
I still have my analogue curly-corded landline.
Had to get a Jitterbug.
Landline went out and I realized I needed a back-up.
My landline gets telemarketing calls up the wahzoo!
Just let them ring; until message phone either voices, or hangs up.
If it voices someone I know, i pick-up.
The telemarketing calls are AI.
If their AI determines your a pigeon;
a human will come on, to get your money.
That’s the program.
As I composed my post above I got back to back scam calls and I too was wondering if AI is behind them and uses them to strategically gather information in real time when we post something it doesn’t like. Matter of fact I believe this has happened on more than one occasion. When I posted less for a couple months I got fewer scam calls but since I’ve become active again my phone is being flooded again. Coincidence? Who knows!
InfiniteRUs
I’ve been experiencing that very thing.
The timing is incredible!
Plus a number of other “glitches”, built right-in.
AI, is only going to make it much more worse.
AI is here to strengthen the status-quo of The Establishment/Press/CIA/etc., etc.
Once that get their CBDC, or some form of it?
Even if Trump decides to fight it,
the Press will overwhelm him with their narratives,
and false narratives about him.
Censoring ANY truths!
Mao-Tse-Tung ideologies are being reborn, rebranded, remastered, and duly digitized.

I solved that problem years ago…I simply don’t have my phone plugged in unless I need to use it, and I never respond to voicemails. My life is much more peaceful without the robocalls.
