I suspect all these guys are part of an international organization that supplies certain perks to their members. I doubt anyone was being blackmailed but to join these organizations it’s understood that this will be used against you or worse if you betray the organization. The members likely make certain pledges to join and they are more like secret societies that are working on controversial projects that require insurance on each other to not spill the beans to the public on what ever secret enterprises they are involved in. The law sees blackmailed people, even if the blackmail is over a crime, as victims. So when they say they are going to protect the victims you can bet they don’t mean the children. I’ve seen smaller scale big buisiness and political class clubs like this in some of the bigger cities I’ve lived in. Pensacola even cracked down on a couple high school student escort services catering to these local big shots a couple times over the years I lived there. Usually you’ll hear about some low level member busts during election time and the media will hint at possible judges and politicians being involved but will never follow up on it or cover it again. I always felt like someone was reminding everyone in their club who was the boss and that they better keep doing what they were told or had agreed to.
