WEAPONIZING DENTAL FLOSS

...I can still hear my boyhood dentist hovering over me, and every time I think of him I am reminded of that German-Nazi dentist, played by Sir Lawrence Olivier, and that scene with him and his "patient", Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man. My dentist was also German, and had just a very very slight accent, but always spoke in these very clipped, curt sentences that were more like orders than medical advice.  And I had a sinus problem, which meant I had to breathe through my mouth, and I can still hear him saying "Don't breathe, you're fogging my mirror." And the torture tools, and the drill. And that big syringe full of novacaine.

And then the lectures about brushing...

... and flossing.

I suppose we've all been there, and we all have the same excitement about visits to the dentist, and if you're like me, contrive any number of reasons to avoid it.

If you're like me I'll bet you're wondering if they have a special room someplace where there are particularly twisted people that just sit around and dream up crazy projects against their fellow human beings. Oh... wait... I forgot. They already have a whole department within the "defense 'community'" called the Diabolically Apocalyptic Research Projects Agency (DARPA)* that does that, and that gets paid rather well to do so, too. It's interesting that they have already thought about putting their potions and quackcines into the food supply, and now, they want to weaponize dental floss as well, so that if the food won't get you, then when you go to brush and floss your teeth, that will do it. In fact, why even bother with pills and prescription drugs? What we need is floss for every disease, chronic and acute, and every occasion (party floss, sleep floss, suntanning floss) while we eagerly await DARPA's "universal quackcine" and the general-purpose floss.

Let's face it folks: the people running this world are just a few flies short of a happy meal.
