As you rightly comment, this massive release is an ideal opportunity to “salt” in fake or semi-fake documents, which may have been years in the making by “insiders” with various agendas. This has been a longstanding problem in archival research, made easier by the fact that since these are e-mails, there is not even any need to fake a hard copy original.
Agree, with the profusion of misinformation and disinformation we are exposed, the waters have been so muddied electronic communications could be curated and manufactured over the years and each administration. Modern madness.
