PASTOR PAULA AND THE MESSIANIC MEMES OF TRUMP
A little house-cleaning reminder before we launch into this week's blogs. Remember there is NO vidchat this Friday, as this week is Holy Week in the Eastern Churches. Our next vidchat will be on April 17th, weather permitting. Also, this week's blogs will appear on Mon, Tues, and Wed, with no honourable mentions this weekend. News and Views may appear on Wed. With that, down to business, which, as things would have it, is also Holy Week-related:
Last week was Holy Week for Christians in the West (Presbyterians, Lutherans, evangelicals, Roman Catholics, and so on) as this week is Holy Week for Christians of the East (Orthodox, Copts, Armenians, and so on). And it is becoming increasingly more obvious, as it is becoming increasingly more difficult, that the world is in some sort of spiritual crisis. Perhaps a spiritual catastrophe, maybe even - to borrow J.R.R. Tolkien's wonderful neologism - a "eucatastrophe", a "catastrophe that results in good" rather than evil or tragedy, though it may be too early to determine that. In any case, it is becoming more difficult to ignore these events when they occur, and this one is a whopper doozy, appearing as it did during the western Holy Week, and the week before Holy Week for the east.
So many of you spotted this and sent it along that I thought it necessary to begin this week after the West's Easter in the rearview mirror and the East's Pascha fast approaching, with this little video from Mr. Trump's spiritual advisor, "Pastor Paula":

Now, if you managed to make it all the way through that video without regurgitation, you an at least be thankful to "Pastor Paula" for clearly and unambiguously stating what many in the alternative media have been voicing - often under their breath - for many months, and that is the increasing tendency of the psycho-fantastic media to portray Mr. Trump in quasi-Messianic terms. Indeed, to listen to "Pastor Paula", there's nothing "quasi" about it; the "anointing" is there for all to see: wrongful persecution using all the legal apparatus of a global power (is it Rome, or is it Memorex?), being thrown in jail, wrongfully accused, leading an insurrection, and (nearly) dying but, seemingly, "coming back from the dead", i.e., a political death.
It's all there for all to see.
And "Pastor Paula" has clearly and explicitly pointed it all out.
But perhaps she has really done us all a favor by doing so. Now that the "peculiar parallelisms" have been explicitly pointed out by Trump's own "spiritual advisorette", we no longer have to second guess: this is what was either intended, or, taking the assassination attempt as a "crisis of opportunity", this is the "approved narrative." And the narrative, according to Pastorette Paula, is clear: this is all God's plan, and Mr. Trump - just like Christ, because of all the parallelisms, you see - is His instrument.
I do not know about you, but that is precisely what I find so disturbing about her "message," for she seems to be ignorant of the fact that the parallelisms could indicate something else entirely, an "in-place-of-Christ," since the "anti-" prefix in "anti-Christ" can mean both "against" and "in place of". How quickly the latter can turn into the former! Timing such remarks during western Holy Week, when many Christians are literally hearing the cosmological story of the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ, and of His victory over death and rising from the tomb, and comparing it to the recent events of Mr. Trump's life may not mean at all what she thinks it means.
It may just mean that it was theater all along, and that her messianic narrative was the intention all along. Indeed, the comparison falls flat on its face. The One rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits in high priestly intercession at the right hand of God the Father, and sent the Spirit of Life to His church.
The other followed the councils of the wicked, and started a war with what appears to be no plan - other than his own infallible feelings - on how to get out of it.
Sorry, pastor Paula. I'm not buying your product, nor your narrative, and certainly not your "ministry." Don't despair, though, because you can always apply for the job of archbishopette of Canterbury when the current usurper quits the role.

She was in essence saying that through Christ’s death and resurrection, all who are true followers of Christ have died to sin and are raised again to life in Christ! And they will also have eternal life. Which is 100% Biblical, however where she went off the rails is saying that President Trump is a follower of Christ, which anyone who is a true follower of Christ can tell he is not!
When Trumo says, he thinks he can “earn” his way to Heaven by destroying Iran, that alone tells you has has zero knowledge of how a follower of Christ makes it to Heaven: Via God’s grace, or unmerited favor!
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, based on Scripture alone, for God’s glory alone
The West has always lusted after the End Times. What hell have these fiends have in mind for the rest of us?
