A little late to this one, but soon as the Norwegian oil fund is mentioned; I just cant control myself, I get the eye-twitch of Inspector Dreyefus in the Pink Panther universe and the need to hammer on the keyboard is felt immediately.😂
But seriously; it is meybe the biggest scam in the history of scams.
The fact that 98% of Norwgians actually buys this scheme is hard to fathom, but here we are.
The oil fund was established for the people of Norway, and it sounds all good when politicians bang their chests , as if the fact theres oil at the bottom of the ocean is of credit to them.
They will look the people in the eye and tell them “It is for periods when the economy is down, a buffer , a security for the people.”
BUt as soon as these slower periods arrive, the tune changes and the chorus suddenly goes ” We cant spend money in a slow period, it will cause inflation and will only hurt the economy-The best thing to do is to invest the fund now”.
The taxes in Norway are extreme.
And everyone thinks its the oil that secures the “Norwegian model”, with “free healthcare” and “Free” school.
Its all garbage.
Every year threes some cae in the media, where politicians or royals are caught using the private alternative to the free healthcare.
Of course; cause the hospital waiting lines are insane, and the care isnt always there.
I was asked by someone if i was not appreciative to the fact that I lived in a country where I could smoke cigarettes and get free healthcare when I got lung cancer.
The fact is tobacco is taxed so hard that by the time I get cancer from smoking, I will have paid the healthcare needed many times over through taxes.
A beer in a bar is 15$ easy, a cigarette is a dollar each.
This is Norway.
And the system is used to keep people in line; once you step outside the system of the state, things will not work out for you.
But if you do follow the program, you will have a “safe” life, yes, this is true.
But try being poor in Norway, or not following the program at a young age- Its not an experience I recommend.
Still people all over the world envys Norwegians the oil.
But fact is it only benefits very few people and is made for the reasons the great Joesph P Farrell outlines in this N&V.
Norway also pay insane money for not having joined the EU,.
“We have everything that the members of the union has , but the benefits” is a classic line from the pro-EU people.
and it is true. But a membership would take away soverignity and the EU would get its hands on the oil fund, finally.
Many people believes thats where it ends up sooner or later anyways, in the hands of the filthy few at the top of Europe.
For the Norwegian people it really doesnt matter what elites have their hands on the oil, it wont be theirs anyways.

Regarding Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, one can only envy it and wish that the UK had done the same with its North Sea Oil & Gas revenues! But no, it was squandered and we are poor and broken as a country.

Fascinating. The powerful Ford foundation comes to mind. Originally chartered to pursue conservative causes, later hijacked and now supports all manner of left leaning causes. With fantastic wealth comes great responsibility. Whom should be entrusted with that responsibility? How do you ensure it pursues the interests of it’s (citizens) owners? I wonder who governs the Saudi Sovereign Wealth fund. I wonder what firm is their advisor.
