My son was using this “software” for some tax return and mortgage calculations…. The idea being that it would be quicker. However…. It couldn’t consistently give the same answer AND it could not reliably add up. Also the overall answer was actually wrong. So…. I am not seeing any actual Intelligence. The name Artificial Intelligence is in itself a psyop / propaganda. It is a biased and corrupt (in the old fashioned sense) bit of software therefore, dangerous and already unfit for the task it is supposed to be able to do. It is failing and has failed (repeatedly) in real world applications. The readers on this site know the rest of my rant, I am sure. Have a lovely weekend all.

… One could make the argument that what is being attempted here is a very subtle attempt to alter the understanding of “how we understand the news” (to paraphrase Neil Postman). First, there is certainly an attempt to “smuggle” in certain premisses as being True (e.g. memo yet no mention or text of proof of the existence of said memo). Second, there is an attempt to use (introduce ? / infuse ? / employ ?) an alternate semantics (see Henkin Semantics – a strategy for automated reasoning using natural languages). Why do I say this? In this entire discussion there appears to be an attempt to “surpass” the use of the simple informal fallacy of equivocation (in this case I suggest between something being inferred v implied)… Instead of simply shifting the meaning of a word or phrase throughout the “argument” one senses instead the attempt at a “laying over” of a non-explicit ambiguity created by an alternate semantics being used to create a certain kind / type of entailment thus becoming an integral (if not determining in terms of understanding) part of the “argument” itself.
FTA … sometimes it takes a while for the social machine to catch up … see William Barrett’s The Illusion of Technique (1979). It seems that what I like not refer to as The Fallacy of Believing Technique is now being able to be seen and experienced.
If you study how these models work: algorithmic analysis or how probable that token/word is to appear in such context, you really understand why it produces these results. I use it, but I have seen probable results that resemble an answer, but the answer is factually wrong. Unless these companies change their entire approach, I will not hold my breath seeing different results.
