Brief thoughts (e.g. 100 words or less).
Hi folks: once again, I'm going to have to beg your indulgence as I've had to change the vidchat schedule again. I was fully planning to have the 7PM Pacific-Americas vidchat this Friday afternoon and evening, but they are predicting bad weather for tomorrow, Wednesday, all the way through Friday evening. I have moved that vidchat to the 14th of this month, rather than take a chance that severe weather will interfere with a vidchat this Friday. We desperately desperately need to get out of this awful pattern.
Wow! This was quite a week - and not just from the standpoint of trying to dodge tornadoes - but also because the amount of great articles was almost overwhelming:
S.D. spotted this one about the USA's first conspiracy theorist: President George Washington:
Many people spotted this about the French senate prohibiting any rebuild of Notre Dame not aimed at restoring the original structure:
J.D. spotted this article indicating that I might be wrong about the British Crown's view of the European Union:
V.T. passed along this important article examining a possible group behind the so-called Q-anon phenomenon:
And V.t. also spotted this one about a whole new method of vote-rigging:
S.D. found this article about an anti-fertility drug being discovered in a UN vaccine by the Government of Kenya (and they say eugenics is dead... bah!):
Apropos of today's main blog, R.P. found this very short video on RT of a Russian rocket launch being struck by lightning:
Hi everyone: this is just to let everyone know there's a new Dialogue in the members' area with Elana Freeland.
OK folks, Daniel informed me that Google has apparently fixed whatever was wrong with Google hangouts, but as I have company, I'm unable to look into it until tomorrow afternoon, so there will still be no vidchat. But if everything works out, I will try to re-schedule tomorrow vidchat for NEXT Friday, so remember to watch the schedule, and I'll post a notice here (if I remember, lol). I've also been trying to line up a new Dialogue guest but the weather and Google issues haven't helped, but we're still working on that as well. Thank you everyone for your patience!
Hi folks, well, it seems for the moment we're dead in the water. Danielm had the same problems I did with the google hangouts platform, and hence there won't be a vidchat this week as we're going to try to have to find a similar platform that actually WORKS. I'll try to keep everyone posted. I deeply apologize about this.
Hi folks. my apologies about the lack of a blog today, but the weather has been absolutely a mess the past two days, with dawn-to-dusk-to-dawn tornado warnings, sirens going off, a very anxious and scared little dog, &c. Last week wasn't much better, and in spite of my efforts to try to schedule things for interviews and blogs and dialogues, the weather has not cooperated. Thanks for your patience.
This was another one of "those weeks" in which it was very difficult to make final selections, and accordingly I'm posting some of the close calls here. As one might guess, many of them are related to space (including a few that don't seem to be):
For starters, S.R. noticed this story about Israel's failed Moon lander Bereshit, which apparently was carrying a library. The usual line that it was being done to help "preserve human civilization" (from what?) is put out, and while I don't discount the idea, I think it's also possible that the library was being put up there to... well, give people something to read...
H.B. spotted this story about how "excited" engineers are about putting tunneling machines on the Moon (with what? chemical rockets? Don't make me laugh):
K.L. spotted this story about the Russians being successful in making gold "flat", which sounds a lot like they've made it "two dimensional" or something rather like an ORME, which, you might recall, are alleged to experience significant mass loss properties (oh those tricky Russkies... might this be why they're buying up so much gold? Along with China? And why Germany wants its gold back? And, did I mention, those countries all have space programs?....):
And speaking of gold, H.B. also noticed this one (wait... the US Army academy at West Point is storing and guarding gold???):
And if you're following the glyphosate GMO story, M.W. spotted this one:
And B.H. spotted this one about a raid on Deutsche Bank, and a connection to the Panama Papers:
Hi folks. There's a new interview with Dark Journalist here:
