Not one to add a flashpoint to any “high octane speculations” but most of these articles tend to lead toward very dark stuff, indeed.
Regarding Havana Syndrome, BBC News reports that this latest report restores the possibility of some kind of malicious activity back to the agenda by saying that, at least in a specific sub-set of cases, pulsed energy or microwaves are a plausible cause. And that will lead to the question of whether it is due to some kind of surveillance which causes harm or the use of a directed energy weapon and, if so, who might be involved?

Key question is why the news media – BBC and CNN etc keep pointing the finger at Russia?
Why not China? Why is Russia always made out to be the bad guy and not China? Is it because the West has too many of their strategic eggs single sourced from China’s basket? Surely that situation cannot continue?

One’s guess is that the palindrome ‘soroS’ has been threatened and some of his investments stolen instead of duly lost in a venture move that didn’t provide a fruitful outcome.
