As if the news couldn't possibly become any stranger this week, Mr. S.D. sent me this one, and my first reaction was "You're kidding, right?" Well, that's still my reaction, and hence, today's high octane speculation comes with a warning label: "Warning, take this one not with just a grain of salt, but a whole bag of it."
So here we go:
Russia Orders Obama: TELL THE WORLD ABOUT ALIENS, Or We Will
Now, regular readers here know that I'm nowhere close to the "disclosure" mania that infects the UFOlogy world with its very own special version of rapture prediction. But, what is very telling in this case is that Dmitri Medvedev, Prime Minister, and at one time, President of Russia, is calmly telling the reporter(if you go to the first video linked in the article), that, yes, the Russian President is briefed on two things (1) the nuclear "football" with which he will launch Russian nuclear missiles in case of a general war, and (2) the presence of aliens and the special Russian security service (Men in Black, believe it or not) designed to trace them.
Now, beyond the possibility that this is just a bit of propaganda fun, let's assume for the sake of argument that Mr. Medvedev is telling the truth. (After all, he certainly appears to be saying all of this with a straight face, though the reporter interviewing him seems mildly amused at certain points). When one makes the assumption that he is telling the truth and being sincere, a rather astonishing set of problems emerges. The first is one that UFOlogists in the USA will(perhaps) recognize, and that is that the Russian state has apparently been able to retain control over its UFO-alien monitoring activities, whereas, if one believes a certain strain of the lore in the USA(helped along by the so-called Cooper-Cantwheel Majestic 12 documents), control of the "secret" was lost by the government to shadowy corporate-military groups under Nixon. This shadowy Russian security agency is known to the Russians as "the Men In Black," and has nothing to do with the silly American movies with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, but refers to an apparently well known Russian documentary by that titlle (the second video linked in the above article, and more or less a typical "they're here and they mean us well and the government knows all about it", but in Russian, of course).
What the article goes on to point out is that Medvedev's remarks were dismissed as being a kind of elaborate joke, based on the confusing reference to "Men in Black":

Again, without getting into all the wrangle concerning American UFO lore about secret meetings between Eisenhower and ETs (about which, as my book readers know, I have profound misgivings), it again seems clear that Medevedev was perhaps not joking at all. And if the article is to be believed, Russia is pressuring the West to "come clean" on the issue, and, reading between the lines a bit, the West is balking.
Let's assume, again for the sake of argument, that the article's assertions are true, specifically, that (1) there is a secret Russian security department tasked with monitoring the presence, and presumable whereabout, of "ETs" among us, and (2) that it is pressuring the West to make some sort of disclosure of this fact. What would be the corroborative indicators that this might be so?
As the article points out, the Vatican has made a number of curious announcements in recent years about its position toward ETs, namely, that baptizing them would clearly be acceptable. Even the Pope himself, you'll recall, alluded to this in a homily last year. Such announcements might and indeed could plausibly be taken as a corroborative indicator. But what about the assertion that Russia monitors the "ET" population - apparently quite sizeable according to Mr. Medvedev - via a security service? What might be the indicator one would look for in such an instance?
As I've offered before, the only certain way to do so, if indeed these alleged ETs are biological entities, would be via their genetics, and a fairly sophisticated and widespread system of collecting DNA, and a system of tracking, would have to be in place to do it(along with a massive computational and data-processing capability). Given the appropriate technologies, it might even be possible to sequence DNA without having to have any physical contact with an individual directly. Indeed, we've seen a dramatic up-tick in the government's calls for precisely such genetic monitoring, and an up-tick in technologies able to sequence DNA "in the field," so to speak, that is to say, without having to send sample to far off laboratories and wait for the results. Such capabilities would indeed be condign to the type of effort Mr. Medvedev alludes to in his remarks. As I've often remarked, it has been my conviction - and remains so - that there is an aspect of the genome project and the ongoing research to gather information about the historical emergence of human haplogroups, that is entirely secret. I have maintained in this respect that perhaps the "Family Elites" of the west have been "looking for something," and I have suggested that this could be genetic proof or disproof of those ancient stories of interference with the human population via interbreeding and genetics experiments. However, another secret purpose of such a project would be precisely to spot such "alien" populations. (Indeed, if one think about it a bit, the two are not necessarily unrelated.)
Which brings us to point number two, and to what Mr. S.D. in his email to me suggested was "the epistemological problem." But first the point itself. Assuming, again for the sake of argument, that the article's assertions are true, and that Russia is indeed pressuring the USA to make some kind of "disclosure," then we have another factor, perhaps the principal factor, in the meltdown of American-Russian relations in recent months. Such a view would suggest that the Ukraine and all the busy and frenetic diplomatic activity might be something of a distraction deliberately designed to head off consideration of a far deeper issue, perhaps even a big enough crisis designed to get the Russians to "shut up" about it (which, if the article's assertions be true, they're not doing).
Which raises the epistemological question: how would we know, even if such disclosure were made, that any of this is true? Again, the only way would be (1) to test genetically with replicatable results, and (2) to have plausible, and to some extent verifiable, answers to the inevitable questions this would produce: who are they? why are they here? how did they get here? where did they come from? and what do they want? And perhaps that's the rub: maybe Russia's "ETs" are a very different (perhaps friendlier?) group of ETs than America's ETs? or, perhaps, there simply isn't any such information forthcoming. Notably, Mr. Medvedev did not provide any data such as genetic data to verify his statements. But it is worth recalling that it is the very same Mr. Medvedev who, one month before the Chelyabinsk meteor incident, called for a Russian asteroid defense system, with or without the participation of other nations, and that such a system would entail the use of thermonuclear missiles "and other methods" of destroying asteroids. Then, as if on cue, the Chelyabinsk meteor appeared, and just as weirdly, blew up in circumstances that still have many (myself included), scratching their heads.

All of this ‘opening up’ and ‘disclosure’ presumes something – that they’ll be allowed to.
If there really are aliens, and they’ve been co-operating with the governments, then surely they would have something to say about having their existence revealed here??
From what I’ve been reading/seeing on the interwebs (including the Russian ‘Men in Black’), there appears to be one species helping out the Russian gov’t, and a different species helping out the US. I find this rather… interesting! A – it indicates a minimum of 2 alien species here on Earth (although I’d predict there are somewhat more). B – are those 2 species working together? Independently?? Or are they in conflict? So, are we humans just the stupid pawns in the middle?? C – I would doubt that, having the ability to travel across the vast expanses of space, that they’d then give all control and authority to the local (ignorant) governments. Ie, they have a significant amount of control of what and when things get said…
So – even if the US gov’t (or even Russian) wanted to fully let all humanity fully know what’s been going on, I’d be surprised if EVERYTHING was ‘disclosed’.
And, it also seems a given that those aliens haven’t wanted to fully expose themselves either – not to the general population of Earth as a whole.
So, I suspect there’s some form of agreement between the various alien races, regarding the what’s and when’s of their presence being known here.
Aridzonan_13 brings up a (IMHO) significant point – reincarnation. If such exists, then there is (logically) no reason why ‘alien’ ‘spirits’ haven’t been reincarnated here on Earth. If this also is true, then that also leads to a rather interesting question – how many? Not just people currently alive, but also how many different species of alien lifeforms have humans come from (ie, previous lives)?? And, of those, how many are, or would be, ‘friendly’ to those (at least) 2 species co-operating with the Russian/US governments…???? Well about time so many great comments from you all i was so tempted to add comments to most of the views so far but thought it best to have a cover the subject in one go instead. First well done all including the big man Joseph who we know is uncomfortable with the aliens side of things. Well lets us take it step by step. Highly recommended movie. The Kingsman is a secret society working indepently of governments but drawing resources from them. They are modelled after Arthur,s knights. There are a lot of gnostic references such as the !bridal chamber! When the two most visible and influential religious leaders in the world both seriously talk about aliens publicly within months of each other, there is definitely something going on.
And, as JPF has pointed out, there are many cases lately where the Russians have proven far more honest than the US government (which, admitedly, is not difficult – say one true thing and you’ve done it).
Most Eastern religions that have re-incarnation as a core belief, have no problem with the concept of off world civilizations. I would say the major push back will be from the more conservative elements of Judism, Christianity and Islam. Where off world biblical references (Genesis) typically are defined as fallen angels, etc. However, that being said, I cannot wait for Russia to follow up on their allegations. Real change has been too long in coming.

In your latest book from Adventures Unlimited Joseph your told of Europe pre-knowledge of the Americas, Antarctica. And until recently they have in the education-indoctrination system denial of such knowledge has been the party line. Why should the existence of extra-solar life-intelligence be treated any differently lying is the foundation of our oligarchies power systems for a millennia at least.
Why is it Obama’s responsibility to tell the world about aliens? If they have all this information then why don’t they just release it themselves? Or do they think the world won’t take them seriously? If so that’s their own fault, but I don’t see how threatening Obama to release anything makes any sense whatsoever. If they want it released, then just put it out there themselves!
I do think the fighting over there is to distract from other issues, but what they are is open to question. I think it has a different purpose.

There are two epistemological concerns.
One would be the “institutional” memory of the “ancients” and its “purity”. No doubt “corrupted” through time; do that its very meaning/conclusion is twisted beyond belief.
Another is the so-called “trace” through “DNA”. This method is suspect to begin with. And, like a “lie” detector, it used simply as a political tool. [In fact, it doesn’t detect lies,; it detects truth/thus the “twist”].
So it really boils down to: mankind is deceptive as hell.
And so, is the alien just as deceptive? For if intelligence is indeed honed by deception, than unraveling “truths” is hellish indeed.
Something Shakespearean in this “alien” question. Perhaps a better question would be for both human & aliens: Are you for a “living/sharing” system for all[a justice for all, cliché];
or is your system, hell-bent on control/extraction. Or simply put: is your species a warring one, or a cooperative one? Of course, the answer lies in between the black & white simplicities. The grey area. And, symbolically the grey matter is a bridge to the spirit of a “living” universe for all. Yet it seems there are, by nature the ying/yang dark/light forces that govern our dimensions, and perhaps the answer lies not in the stars; but in our very selves[human or alien].
I have no doubt “they” exist. But remember, we are also “they” to the others. The problems they have, maybe like our own: the inequalities between us all. These should be treasured; not used as a divide & conquer leverage by the few, at the expense of all.
Russia has decided to ramp up an “information” war against the West to be used as leverage in negotiations over limiting Russian influence in Europe.

Since Mr. Medvedev has spoken of (predicted?) crashing asteroids and aliens, he seems to have hit on a couple of key elements of that infamous von Braun—Rosin discussion of the BIG PLAN. I suppose the question is whether Medvedev is a member of the BIG PLAN, or if he was letting the planners know that the Russians know the score.
While the Iraqi Information Minister was more fun, it would seem that we should pay closer attention to Mr. Medvedev’s public statements.
