GMI’s for GMO’s

If you've been thumbing through your Primer of Biblical Apocalypses or browsing through Apocalypses for Dummies lately, you've probably noticed how oddly synchronous all those dire predictions from the past are and how much they resemble the "if-we-can-think-of-it-let's-do-it" attitude of contemporary corporations, mad scientists, and insane government agencies like DARPA, which - thanks to a suggestion by Mr. J.B. - we respectfully refer to on this site as the Diabolically Apocalyptic Research Projects Agency. We'd almost expect the current Director's name to be Lucy Furr. And for those of you who are unfamiliar with what synchronicities are, they're somewhere on the spectrum between coincidence and ineluctable Calvinism.

And if you've been following the saga of GMOs and Mon(ster)santo (lately become I.G. Farbensanto after German chemicals giant Bayer bought the company), you'll also be familiar with the fact that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., son of the murdered Senator, has been closely following or actually involved with recent lawsuits against against the company for glyphosate which some studies have identified as a carcinogen. And that's just the beginning, because there are hundreds more lawsuits in the wings. And while were talking about synchronicities somewhere between coincidence and ineluctable Calvinism, don't forget that strange Bayer-I.G. Farbensanto connection to 9/11 via Mohammad Atta, whose stint in Germany was sponsored by the Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft, Duisberg being the lovely chap who headed Bayer during World War One, who helped found the notorious IG Farben cartel after said War to End All Wars, and who recommended during said War to End All Wars to bring 60,000 or so Belgians to Germany as slave labor. He was a veritable cauldron bubbling with ideas, including the idea of using poison gas and chemical warfare. That didn't work out too well for Germany as France and England had chemists too (go figure), but all ended well as Bayer made lots of money, some of which doubtless helped to purchase Mon(ster)santo.

Well, the spirit of Carl Duisberg lives on, for Mr. B.B. spotted and shared this article about the latest "if-we-can-think-of-it-let's-do-it" project going on at DARPA:

Scathing Report Accuses the Pentagon of Developing an Agricultural Bioweapon

Now, if you thought GMOs were bad enough, consider the following revelation:

A new technology in which insects are used to genetically modify crops could be converted into a dangerous, and possibly illegal, bioweapon, alleges a Science Policy Forum report released today. Naturally, the organization leading the research says it’s doing nothing of the sort.

The report is a response to a ongoing research program funded by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Dubbed “Insect Allies,” the idea is to create more resilient crops to help farmers deal with climate change, drought, frost, floods, salinity, and disease. But instead of modifying seeds in a lab, farmers would send fleets of insects into their crops, where the genetically modified bugs would do their work, “infecting” the plants with a special virus that passes along the new resilience genes.

...

The technology at the heart of this research could herald an entirely new way of genetically modifying crops. Instead of having to wait for a plant to pass its newly-acquired traits onto the next generation, genetic changes would be imposed upon living organisms, a process known as horizontal genetic alteration. Hence the technology’s name—Horizontal Environmental Genetic Alteration Agents, or HEGAAs.

For HEGAAs to work, a lab-developed genetic modification needs to be inserted into the chromosome of a target organism. And that’s where the insects come in. The system would utilize leafhoppers, whiteflies, and aphids genetically altered in the lab using CRISPR, or some other gene-editing system, to carry an infectious virus to pre-existing crops. Each plant would be infected with a transgene, triggering the desired gain-of-function, such as improved resistance to drought or frost.

Now, most readers here are familiar with the biggest criticism leveled against GMOs: the utter lack of long-term trans-generational studies; they were simply rubber-stamped and allowed out (during the [mis-]administration of G.H.W. Bush). At the time of course there were German generals people who said that using poison gas wouldn't work because France and England had chemists too further testing needed to be done of environmental impact, long term crop yields, and human health impact, but no one listened to them, and the result was predictable: England and France started using poison gas long term independent studies began to confirm that long term yields fell as prices rose, and a whole host of animal and human problems began to occur. Now, without any long-term studies, DARPA wants to create and release Genetically Modified Insects (GMIs) to Genetically Modify Crops.

And that's the positive spin!

The potential for weaponization of this Lucy Furrian idea is definitely there, so like Carl Duisberg, DARPA plunges ahead anyway, forgetting that England and France have chemists too China and Russia have genetic and robotical engineers too, and GMI warfare becomes an apocalyptic possibility.

All it will take is for some heartlessly brilliant corporocrat colossally stupid and greedy Carl Duisberg to recommend that the insects can be released on farmers' fields through gigantic artillery bombardments...

... oh... wait... we have airplanes for that now.

And gee, what a coincidence synchronicity that they're spraying like crazy. Why not just add some GMIs to the mix?

...sigh...

See you on the flip side...

  1. we have drones for that now… Gordon Duff on Rense this week reckons that “we” are testing bio agents in third world countries that target races that “we” hate.

and Jim Stone 82.221.129.208 covered the naturally occurring humongous mozzies that are 27X the size of normal infernals, natural but oooh it makes me wonder.

rfk jr’s grandfather made a motza as Ambassador to England/Lon-don getting all the scottish whisky back to the States so that the Nazis could not get hold of it should they have cause for victory celebrations. Stayed in a House of Morgan’s complete with staff. No security worries there for the deep state. I’m glad I’m not a kennedy.

Duisberg sounds like douchebag to my tinnitus ridden ears.

    1. I had a book plot in 1976 for a novel involving a black widow genetically engineered assassin being used in numerous operations. Also a plethora of other genetically engineered James Bon type toys used from bacteria eating through whatever prison the hero was thrown into to u-name-it.
As describe above this is a facet of the ongoing “Gene Wars” that happened when the DNA life lamp was rubbed by Crick & Watson

      1. The insect; however, is quite symbolic of the mentally in charge of “our” affairs. No doubt, the humans in this apparent insect-chain-of-command[robotic/insect] are trying to get a firm hold on of the reigns of power. But those insects/AI are a formidable foe. Their mentality & biology are more programmed[instinct]; but, by whom/what? Not nature; as they are consuming it, including humanity. As if the Nation State{Earth]/human is fighting against the insect/AI/intergalactic power.

  2. Finding any news in the UK press about the fight Robert F Kennedy Jnr had with Monsanto, is hard to find. I found nothing in the main stream media. I found this article dated 6 Sept 2018 https://www.euronews.com/2018/09/06/explosive-documents-about-monsanto-in-europe
US lawyers say they have “explosive” documents about crisis-hit agribusiness giant Monsanto and their affairs in Europe.

Those involved in a successful lawsuit against the firm have been in Brussels, addressing a European Parliament special committee.

Last month, Monsanto was ordered to pay 289 million dollars to a former school groundskeeper dying of cancer, after it was agreed the firm’s Roundup weedkilled contributed to his disease.

“What we have is the tip of the iceberg. And in fact we have documents now in our possession, several hundreds documents, that have not been declassified and some of those are explosive,” said US lawyer Robert Jr. Kennedy.

“And many of them are pertinent to what Monsanto did here in Europe. And that’s just the beginning.”

Beyond the environmental battle, what’s happened also raises the issue of transparency. For one Green MEP, the US legal battle is also one for democracy.

“They are fighting a fight for more democracy and for transparency and to get a better insight in how big corporation such as Monsanto act and try to manipulate the facts,” said Belgium’s Bart Staes.

Last November, the EU approved the use of glyphosate, a chemical used in Monsanto’s Roundup product, for five years after a heated debate over whether it causes cancer.

The EU have approved this for another 5 years, even though over 60% of British Bread is already contaminated with Glyphosate, and there are trace levels in organic crops. Suprised to find the UK Soil Assoc are playing down these findings.

    1. I’m reminded of Soros being a beg player in the “newly” acquired BIG LAW umbrella describing where Wall Street & Big Law join hands with the latest AI technologies in investing heavily w/many strings attached.

  3. Genes specify the kinds of proteins that are made by cells, but DNA is not the direct template for protein synthesis. Rather, the templates for protein synthesis are RNA (ribonucleic acid) molecules. In particular, a class of RNA molecules called messenger RNA (mRNA) are the information-carrying intermediates in protein synthesis. Other RNA molecules, such as transfer RNA (tRNA) and ribosomal RNA (rRNA), are part of the protein-synthesizing machinery. All forms of cellular RNA are synthesized by RNA polymerases that take instructions from DNA templates. This process of transcription is followed by translation, the synthesis of proteins according to instructions given by mRNA templates. Thus, the flow of genetic information, or gene expression, in normal cells is:
    DNA -> transcription -> RNA -> translation – > Protein.

In 2013, when MIT molecular biologist Feng Zhang was just 32, he became the first scientist to successfully edit human cells using CRISPR, a gene-modifying technology that could ultimately be used to fix cellular mutations. The technology is now leading breakthroughs in treating HIV, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases – to say nothing of its potential for re-engineering coral reefs and harnessing algae’s biopower. “It’s like a renaissance period,” Zhang says. “We have wanted to do this for a long time, and we are now reaching a stage where we can.”

CRISPR uses a bacterial system to snip DNA with the simplicity of an Easy-Bake Oven. To treat diseases like leukemia and Alzheimer’s, scientists foresee targeting genetic mutations with, well, near-surgical precision. At the same time, the tech is being used to research seed size, advance microscope resolution, modify pig organs and develop virus resistance. Another godfather of CRISPR, Harvard’s George Church, is investigating whether CRISPR might even revive extinct species like the woolly mammoth – he’s splicing its DNA into Asian elephant cells. CRISPR will soon become part of an emerging line of cancer gene therapies. “It’s the holy grail for cancer,” says Rick Young, whose MIT lab has deployed CRISPR to close in on a key genetic cause of the disease. “We’re doing the best work of our careers – we’re at the epicenter of a revolution.”

Revolutions, though, can go awry. Recently, DARPA, a military research agency, began funding technology to thwart genetic catastrophes. Intelligence agencies reportedly have started their own development teams as well. “A thousand dollars of CRISPR stuff and a toilet, and you have a bioweapon,” says Hank Greely, a Stanford bioethicist. “That makes me nervous.”

For now, Zhang is leading a search for genomic tools that could one day surpass CRISPR, systems that work with even greater accuracy, speed and bulk. “It is an exciting time to be a biologist,” he says. BW

  4. the parallel examples of horror story technology applications is just too rife. it’s just too easy to see now when we look at the where, when and how of all these tech histories. the virus list is too long but the most popular are hiv and ebola. add lymes disease. all the chronic degenerative diseases of misinformed nutritional propaganda. medical device industry monsters. anyone look at mesh implant lawsuits for prolapse in females and hernias in males? big agrochem? big pharma monsters. that’s just too long a list. then there’s everything electronic. what year did the russians prove microwaves were bad for us and ban them in that country? it’s not such a slow kill genocidal experiment.

there is clearly a pattern here. the concern for public safety let alone public opinion doesn’t figure high on that priority list.

interesting too that rfk jr and mike pappantonio are at the head of the law firms fighting and slowly winning in so many of these genocides. so where does this all go. some of the most conservative youtube channels i’m seeing are selling trump hard as a friend of the kennedy’s and that jfk jr is still alive after dissappearing himself in a faked plane crash and helping the donald behind the scenes to take down all these pedo-cannibal monsters.

is that a harder meme to sell than werner von braun’s alien invasion meme?

    1. Good points!
There seems to be a circular profit stream developing in these law suits that; like war profits leads to the Bechtel’s rebuilding profits to the private police and private this & that biz, all making purposed destruction to the reconfiguring to their benefit. A take down the public infrastructure of public accountability; replaced w/the infrastructure of the privately owned unaccountable -to the public, who pay for it dearly.

    2. Miles has a similar take on the faking the death thing but it comes to a different conclusion. Worth a read, whether you agree with his conclusions or not.

  5. It doesn’t take much to stretch the imagination to biologically altering mosquitoes and fleas in order for them to perform the same functions on humans or to narrow that field down to specific “types” of humans.

And if you want to go another route, one with a certain macabre Halloween overtone, genetically alter a vampire bat population and unleash them on a country’s livestock and let them feed as they naturally do. Instant crises.

I wonder if you could use those insects to biologically terraform an exo planets fauna? Seems you would need a case study, but as Dr. Farrell says that is WAY out on a limb with that one.

  6. For some reason, Joseph’s blog reminded me both of the latest The Day the Earth Stood Still movie and the “Tower of Babel Moment.” The common denominator is that earthlings (not only humans) are starting to seriously degrade the biology of the planet, and ‘something needs to be done about that’. I am sure that Earth is seen by many off-world civilizations as a Pearl of the Heavens (water world, temperate, biological extravaganza) and not to be allowed to be seriously harmed. The big question is whether They will only go for the top of the pyramid, or do a clean sweep and ‘replant’…

    1. But the problem is the Day the Earth Stood still – Those insects was released and specifically target Bio life form, they only quickly destroy it without leaving permanent damage to the Earth (theoretically), later bio-life form can quickly regenerate.

Whatever these mad people are doing will leave a permanent damage to the Earth environment, unlike Mars, they were kill it in one go, now they are killing Earth slowly by messing around with their technology.

As for the “Tower of Babel Moment”, isn’t it on going already right now? When the first Babel moment, those so call god(s) divided human, so they lost their abilities to threaten the god(s). They are doing the same thing right now, divided and conquer, plus using huge amount of drug to weaken the human race, dumb them down intellectually, turn them into sicken, drug depending, TV watching couch potato.

  7. Not so unbelievable, as prophecy tends to be self fulfilling; especially when it is helped along by overzealous Evangelicals and Lucy Furr’s Synagogue of Satan, who yearn for the return of their “Messiah” (though they be two diametrically opposed entities). Why not help it along and engineer the apocalypse of Revelation in all its horrifying details. We have the technology to do so; why not put it to “good” use so they can establish their one world government.
I doubt seriously that anyone with a working brain cell believes any of this is being done for the benefit of mankind.

    1. the memes put forward lately are that the luci ferrians believe the messiah is luci. funny how they have a habit of swallowing whole, all other religions, their beliefs and symbols. the one size fits all religion. hmm where have we heard that before. oh yeh, doesn’t that define one world religion?

and yeh how bout those memes gettin run up multiple flag poles by press and comics like jim jeffries:

complete gun bans cause our only human threats are from govt and they got drones anyway. nevermind protection from anyone else. just like australia. what a happy place where in home criminal attacks have increased.

all religion bad, including agnostics – all atheists good – the world’s scientists and leaders are all atheists and getting tired of being dragged down by all these religious folk slowing down the humanity train – they considering pulling the pin on the last few cars of 7 or 8 billion religious people.

and oh yeh – depression is a tough cross to bear so drink plenty alcohol with all those ssri’s and various street drugs. what could go wrong.

this is the same guy trying to edit ambush jordan peterson. hardest sell of marxism i’ve seen out of a capitalists posh in awhile.

  8. Bad but not unexpected news. On the other hand, Forteans will recall that over time – probably millenia – there have been reports about strange substances and creatures large and small falling out of the skies. And apparently not just due to the “vacuum cleaner” effect of tornadoes.

  9. Ever since American Man was “born equal”, the definition of Man has been on a slippery slope. The Runic symbols provide the original tool, to restrain an unleashed “Frankenstein”.

From a judicial perspective, quarter of the Runic symbols are prepubertal, and half are premarital. Apparently, that is trivial. Yet, it provides an unambiguous definition of Man.
