THE MLF LULLABYE, VERSION 2.0

Do you remember Tom Lehrer, the 1960s and 1970s satirist who commented humorously on world events via songs he would compose and sing from the piano?  You should, because last week I reminded you about him, but in case you don't, occasionally he would simply put in a song for sheer fun, like The Masochism Tango, or The Elements, a recitation of all the chemical elements set to the Gilbert and Sullivan tune of "I am the very model of a modern major general."  But it was his satirical commentary songs that were the most memorable (his comment on the Second Vatican Council, The Vatican Rag, was both hilarious and brutal).  And of these, his songs about nuclear proliferation (and the nuts in the West who were pondering such policies, even then) are classics, one of which is the MLF Lullabye:

Well, it's a pity Mr. Lehrer  - who is still alive, incidentally - has not continued composing his satirical songs, because the following would certainly seem to qualify for an updated version of the MLF Lullaby (story courtesy of L.G.L.R., with our thanks for sharing it):

Leaked Audio: German Top Brass Said to Implicate Brits in Plot Targeting Crimean Bridge

It's the latter article that gives one pause and sets the former article into a disturbing context, for the latter raises the possibility that the German military command of the Bundeswehr, the German Federal Defense Forces, is acting independently of its civilian authority (gee...where have we seen and heard that before?) and might be sending the German Taurus cruise missile to the Ukraine.

("Wait a minute, you're telling me Germany makes its own cruise missiles?"  Yes, that's what I'm telling you. Remember Mikhail Gorbachev, and his "little" revelation about the West German firm OTRAG having basically its own Area 51 in the Congo where it was developing a whole panoply of weapons, including cruise missiles?  ,... Well, here we are.)

That may not seem like much, except the Taurus is a "terrain hugger," i.e., it's one of those sophisticated cruise missiles that flies a few feet above the terrain and not at high altitude, and its special warhead is designed for deep penetration... just the sort of thing you'd fire at hardened targets inside of Russia if you were The Ukraine....if only you could get your hands on some....

Enter those secretive conversations with the Luftwaffe generals; from the second article:

RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan claimed in a Telegram post on Friday that she’d heard a leaked recording from senior Bundeswehr officers discussing how to bomb Russia’s Crimean Bridge in a way that would enable German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to maintain plausible deniability. This follows his inadvertent revelation that France and the UK have clandestinely deployed troops to Ukraine to assist with “target control” while explaining why his country won’t send long-range Taurus missiles there.

Although she didn’t share the recording with her followers, it’s possible that either she, RT, or some other source might do so in the future. In the meantime, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to her post urging German media to prove their independence by asking Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock about this claim. In the absence of evidence, one can only speculate on its veracity, but this development is still sufficient for wondering whether the Bundeswehr is going rogue.

Provided that Scholz was speaking sincerely in expressing the reasons why he’s opposed to sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine, then this suggests that he doesn’t have any idea about what his armed forces are doing behind his back, which risks dragging Germany deeper into this conflict. Their country is currently resuming its long-lost superpower trajectory with full American support after comprehensively subordinating Poland in order to contain Russia in Europe while the US “Pivots (back) to Asia”.

This newfound role might have emboldened some elite members of the Bundeswehr into thinking that they can further expand Germany’s influence in Ukraine by competing with France and the UK there through the clandestine dispatch of troops and Taurus missiles without him knowing. Upon doing so and then successfully striking the Crimean Bridge, this could be blamed on those two in order to deflect from Berlin’s responsibility, after which Scholz would be forced to accept this fait accompli.

The pressure that could then be placed on those two might create space for Germany to expand its influence in Ukraine at their expense as the G7 competes with one another over who’ll get the biggest piece of its economic pie in the run-up to that group’s reported plans to appoint a special envoy there. Germany is already Ukraine’s second-largest military supplier, but its arms industry might fear losing out on post-conflict contracts to France and the UK if it continues to withhold these missiles and troops. (Italicized emphasis added)

Now, just for the record, I have a great deal of difficulty believing that German officers would act in such a manner. It's just not the "style" of German military officers. Might there be one or two "crazies" willing to steal a couple of Taurus missiles and fire them at Russian targets? Yes, there might be.

But there's no reason they need to be necessarily German to embroil that country in Round Three with Russia (so far, you'll recall, the "score" is Germany 1, Russia 1, so this would be the missing "rubber" match). All that's necessary is that the missiles be German, and we're off and running.

However, there's a geopolitical alternative lurking in the wings, and the article exposes it almost en passant:

Neither of Germany’s historical rivals wants to see it become a superpower, but the only way to decelerate this trajectory is to chip away at its influence in Ukraine through their own “military diplomacy” there, which takes the form of their unofficial deployment of troops. While the “military Schengen” that’s formed between the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland will likely lead to Berlin soon expanding its influence into the Baltics, those two could influence the Balkans as a counterweight.

The “Moldova Highway” through NATO’s increasingly pivotal Greek ports, Bulgaria, and Romania alongside the “Black Sea Corridor” that was informally created with British support after the end of the grain deal could combine to keep a check on Germany’s post-conflict influence across the continent. That’s not to argue that it would be adequate enough to derail that country’s resumed superpower trajectory, but just that it could enable France and the UK to carve out their own “spheres of influence”.

The abovementioned scenario is contingent on them continuing to provide military support to Ukraine that Germany has thus far been unwilling to give, namely long-range missiles and associated troop deployments for “target control”, without which these corridors lose their importance. Although both could utilize the German-led “military Schengen” to these ends, Berlin would of course prioritize the export of its own equipment across this route, hence the need for them to have alternatives just in case.

Circling back to Simonyan’s claim after informing readers of the strategic backdrop, it might very well be that a nebulous faction within the Bundeswehr wants to unilaterally act behind Scholz’s back in order to offset this latent challenge to Germany’s envisaged control of Europe. Their plans were just foiled though since the alleged recording means that their country can no longer retain “plausible deniability” in the event that Taurus missiles and troops are secretly deployed to Ukraine to attack Russia’s Crimean Bridge.

Scholz can now either break up this subversive group or go with the flow if he’s powerless to do so, the first of which is the most responsible option but would cede influence in Ukraine to France and the UK, while the second would further embroil Germany in this conflict in order to retain its influence. The possibility also exists that this faction calls off its plans without being broken up after they were just exposed. At any rate, next week will provide more clarity, both into Scholz’s power and Germany’s role. (Italicized emphasis added)

There's an option not mentioned here, and its one that Scholz, or even better, a new government in Berlin  might  pursue: an outright rapprochment with Russia. Such a move would drmatically alter the geopolitical topography, place enormous pressure on the Ukraine to end the war, and restore a measure of energy security to Germany and Europe, and entirely upset the insanity prevailing in Paris and London.

Don't look for Herr Scholz to do it, however. He appears to be trying to balance several competing roles: Lap-poodle to Mssrs. Sunak, Macron, and Bai Den Dzhao, a task for which he is miserably ill-equipped. But if a new government comes to power in Berlin, and if the AfD party has any influence in it, then all of that could change very dramatically and suddenly.  Even before then, the pressures on Scholz to do something sane are mounting inside Germany, and "doing something" implies more than just not sending cruise missiles to the Ukraine.

Maybe, just maybe, it's time to start actually listening to Russia and to Mr. Putin. Does the west really lose anything if Russia gobbles up the Ukraine? No it does not, for even though most realistic analysis agrees that this is not Russia's goal, assume that it does. This leaves Mr. Putin with a real domestic mess on his hands: a largely hostile (and demoralized) population in the conquered country, and several years of trying to digest it properly and tying down enormous amounts of Russian economic resources until the country is back on its feet, making any further expansionist moves - which we're perpetually reminded by our insane media is really what he wants - virtually impossible. A neutral Ukraine, da; an occupied Ukraine, nyet.

And that last assessment raises yet another extraordinarily cynical possibility, one that I strongly suspect has not been mentioned anywhere else before now, and which - unpleasant and hideous a possibility though it is - must be mentioned and considered in the geopolitical calculus of these times: having failed in their initial goal with their proxy war in the Ukraine to get regime change in Russia, &c, what if the goal now has changed completely: what if the goal of the West, by continuing to prop up the Ukraine, is to force Russia into the very occupation of the entire country that Russia does not want? By doing so, Russia is effectively "pinned" as the Ukraine becomes a millstone around its economic neck, and a public opinion burden on the world stage at a time Russia needs friends. such a move further weakens the relationships between Russia and other regional powers, elevates China, and on and on the effects ripple out.

Would the Western leadership be that cynical? Of course it would. Would it so easily toss aside the people of the Ukraine who have faithfully done its bidding in return for the pottage it has been receiving? Of course it would. Is it capable of such cynical long-term calculation and abandonment of an ally? Of course it is. Indeed, a recitation of its abandoned allies in recent history would probably be a lesson well worth learning in Kiev before it is too late... and there are indicators that some, at least, in Kiev are learning it.

See you on the flip side...

You’re right, it does seem similar.
There are a lot of similarities as well as treachery involved. For the last two and a half decades now. He’s getting better at manipulating the dullards of politics, too, playing at their weaknesses.
The involvement of the US, UK, and Russia (the three nuclear powers and signatories) of and on the “Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances,” that “[relates to the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)]” is one of the reasons the US & UK are very much involved with The Ukraine, Hungary, and Belarus today and in support of The Ukraine pursuing its right to self-determination.
True, that it is more complex than simple signatures but none the less being upheld in lieu of current aggressions by one of the signatories – Russia – Gone MAD (mutually assured destruction) by way of Putin. Belarus and Hungary, one must admit, haven’t been acting very regular from a distance due to the same memorandum, especially, with regards to nuclear weapons in Belarus’ case.
Hungary & Turkiye stalled for time recently with the admission of Sweden into NATO. The issue was said to be terrorists, not unlike those the Kremlin claimed to have been antagonized by, so they say, in the 1990’s. The Kremlin’s claim to expand their reach back into separated republics, (again).
Unfortunate for the Kremlin’s spokesperson then that they gave away a fourth target of alleged terrorists 3 days in advance of one of four of the actual bombings in that September: “The blasts hit Buynaksk on 4 September and Moscow on 9 and 13 September. On 13 September, Russian Duma speaker Gennadiy Seleznyov made an announcement in the Duma about receiving a report that another bombing had just happened in the city of Volgodonsk. . . . A bombing did happen in Volgodonsk— – -but only three days later—on 16 September.” Sort of a building 7 effect on 9/11. A KGB defector and journalist paid with their lives with early funerals because they knew too much.
Chechen militants were blamed for the bombings, but denied responsibility, along with Chechen president Aslan Maskhadov. Putin, of course, thought he was uniting all of Russia and more to his cause – self serving interests and then some – in the name of (as Boris Yeltsin suggested to him) taking care of Russia. His self-reinforcing delusion is very much active with a state (Russia) and secretive police service Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) in tow. Most Russians, if not all, do not deserve that treachery. To say little about anyone else in his crosshairs.
Assurances less substantive but no less important, regarding that memorandum, were given by the signatories of France and [China]. One of the reasons China is not so keen on escalations over there as a two front conflict would not do them much good, either.
Of the three main signatories, US, UK, and Russia, one of them has broken that arrangement and memorandum and committed flagrant acts of aggression – War by any other name. Guess who. The MAD Silovik-in-Charge of the Kremlin.

Once, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s “Two Hundred Years Together” becomes available, to the English-speaking audience, then I’m sure, that the Tzar-bashing tendencies of American movie moguls will be seen, in a proper historical context.

The new authorised translation is scheduled to arrive in 2025. Apparently, the book has been banned, from being published in English, which is curious, and it will undoubtedly promote the sales, because grass is greener across the fence.

The Russian Tzar was visionary, and he dreamt, about connecting continents, which was cut short, by Wall Street Bolsheviks, who pulled Crimea out of Russia, and invented the Ukraine out of thin air, as an artificial construct, which undoubtedly is a provincial papal plot.

        Long live the Tzar!

That makes a lot of sense Joseph. It would be in the interest of the crazies in the west for Russia to be saddled with the entirety of the Ukraine. The more is destroyed the heavier a millstone it makes. I wonder, if that was the goal from the beginning or a byproduct of how the war is going. It might have been the plan from the beginning, anyone with half a brain knew the Ukraine would never be able to defeat Russia in a conventional war.

Perhaps Maria Zakharova has been targeted for deep penetration by a Taurus. And the prospect of retaliation is why Victoria Nuland has taken herself away.

The west is idealistic; Putin’s Russia thinks it stupid and acts on it as he projects his disdain toward freedom of expression and right to self-determination of sovereign states onto the US even though the US would rather not fight another European war for them.
In one’s view, deliberate fog of war, diplomacy, and, especially, the [fiction] of President Putin’s propaganda of there being a [PROMIS] of & by NATO to Mikhail Gorbachev not to expand eastward, is being called out. Putin’s repeated dezinformatsiya and shadow hangs over many a useful idiot and seems to be slowly getting exposed for what it is. Fiction. Quite possibly the fluff of twig snapping speculation.
Repeat a lie often enough soon the ignorant begin a sequence of beliefs without proof, convictions without examination without necessary critical thinking in these important matters. Such are the lack of admissions of omissions or of the embellishments of fiction. Or worse, the omissions of false admissions. The game of serious brinksmanship that Putin plays quite well to the max.
Those folks that speak and report in the languages (Russian, Ukrainian, and other former Soviet Bloc countries) have said that Mikhail Gorbachev was never given any promises, nor did he make any promises or accept any promises regarding NATO and he [Gorbachev] said as much. For him it became a non-issue due to the Soviet Union dissolution December 1991. What was NATO to do when there presumably wasn’t an expansionist Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) the purpose of NATO in the first place? It remained idle but was amenable to additional memberships of former republics seeking a level of security through newfound changes. These new republics wanted their new independence from the former USSR to stay put.
Former Soviet Republics, beginning with The Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia), Hungary, and Poland found they needed to join NATO in 1999, the same year & time frame that a disturbed shadowy-gray retired Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnost (KGB) officer, LtCol Vladimir Putin, became Prime Minister and at the change of the millennium assigned President of the Russian Federation by Boris Yeltsin. These new members knew all too well the workings of the CHEKA and still do.
There are those that assert that the first Chechen War 1994-1996 & battle of Grozny, November 1994, brought on a sense of urgency of newly independent republics to act in light of new expansionism of a now Russian Federation.
The first surge came about in 1999 with The Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. The next surge ((Bulgaria (formerly of the Warsaw Pact), Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania (formerly of the Warsaw Pact), Slovakia, Slovenia (successor to Yugoslavia)) in 2004, and another less so surge ((Albania (formerly of the Warsaw Pact), Croatia (successor to Yugoslavia)) in 2009. Far sighted omissions for some folks.
There’s no innocent Russian anything by way of Putin, but there certainly are a lot of omissions. Did one mention Montenegro (in 2017), North Macedonia (in 2020), or how about more recently Finland (2023) & Sweden (2024). They’re not oblivious to Putin’s talking points of dezinformatsiya spouting fiction to manipulate the world stage. They know of his expansionist-zeal-on-the-brain to reform what he once was comfortable with, the former Soviet Union and all of its blood red enforcements. Then there are those surprising current events that twist and fold in the news.

Not everything is what it seems. Behind all the appearances, Russians are passionate tea drinkers, which permeates their epistemology:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_tea_culture

The modern electronic samovar can regulate temperature, and extract essences, at various degrees. Evergreens, like pines, make a healthy extraction.

The holy grail, of the perfect tea blend, is going multipolar in the herbal drugstore, searching for an excellent flavour symphony, which is kitchen alchemy.

I’ve got one of those, a Norwegian samovar, when making geopolitical brew:

According to the UNIT8200 channel on Rumble, they control Iran and Russia as well. All the world really is just a stage; ruled and played off against itself by the City of London boys. According to him they want a multipolar new world order where the US is no longer a super power. And it would be wise for the US to not let that happen and to push for our rights and Constitution worldwide instead. He makes a good arguement.

Battle-hardened brutality doesn’t care, because the last word has been said, whereas the child is trying to articulate itself.

There is absolutely no demand for satirical autism, whereas there, on the other hand, is a great demand, for plasmatic diligence.

It is called kindness, when simple things are given great value, in appreciation of transcendence, that gives thought wings.

BTW, since I’m supposedly an Odin, then I’m also the maestro of the Germanic brass band, which leads to a frontal collision, against the Roman Catholic Church, whose existence depends on controlling Scythian Crimea, which is why the papal spell is broken, by the magic formula of the five wurdz:

      Fallen Samaria rose in Crimea.

      • anakephalaiosis on March 6, 2024 at 11:05 am

BTW, the Vatican, as an Assyrian legacy, is drawn to Scythian Crimea, like a vampire to a blood vessel, and Charlemagne is wiping out Scythio-Saxons, on behalf of the pope, and the pope seeks to consecrate Russia – specifically Scythian Crimea – because it is the centre of resistance movement, against Nineveh, and therefore the Wall Street Bolsheviks seek to separate Crimea from Russia, and therefore the goose stepping political arm of the Vatican is on a repetitious gladiator crusade, against the rise of Samarian alcoholism in Crimea, because the Assyro-Babylonian and Graeco-Roman slave camp is an imperial sobriety troll.

Looking at history, the evil rot is deeply intrenched in Europe. It seeped into European soil constantly emanating and corrupting its enviroment. Headquarters location may vary on the planet, but manages to manipulate European countries to do its bidding. Sadly, it is no different today! However, not everything is going evil’s way. A lot is falling apart too, humanity might be a breath’s hair away from the abyss but it isn’t over till its over! Why the Germans would set themselves up again to be pointed at by the rest of the world, is sad very sad. Smelling that unjust “reparations” levied taxes again. Someone afterwards has to pay for this debacle! I conclude the hate against Germans and Russians is on par, somone wants both peoples eliminated.

Billionaire religious fanatics no one is allowed to mention became my number one suspect after I heard what the most radical and powerful among them believe must happen before the Messianic Era can be invoked. The world stage has been carefully set to accomplish just that. Mere Coincident? Most refuse to study all the religious factions and what they preach and believe. Religion has always been one of the world’s greatest uniters and motivators for heinous crimes against humanity on grand scales. Corrupt, ignorant leaders who just take the money without thinking too deeply why they were given it and what their actions might really be leading up to are being set up for destruction. And unfortunately the rest of us with them.
