The age of the Universe depends upon what one considers the whole Universe to be and at what scale of observation. Our tiny portion of the Universe may appear to be that old but likely isn’t once we get even more data and understanding. From a vastly greater scale of observation our Universe appears to be a mere instantly blinking in and out of existence virtual particle; one amongst countless others. Drastically different scales of space observe drastically different scales of time. Age depends on the scale of the observer perhaps and what it can observe.
