Italy villa Rome ruled an empire Greece, on the other hand, was part of one. Just wishing a better future than the disaster Greece has weathered.
Giuseppi Conte was probably ‘picked’ at an even deeper level than Emmanuel Macron. The key here is that (unless this is a Tsipras-style betrayal exercise) the ‘powers behind the throne’ have chosen to back the Italian culture/infrastructure rather than have it be thrown-to-the-dogs like Greece. The deep Italian Players have obviously said “No” to the ECB/DeutscheBank/Brussels Players. I would have loved to be a fly-on-the-wall at the ‘never-happened’ meetings that arranged the current events…
A law professor at Florence University, Conte is from a small town the southern Apulia region, and has as a legal practice in Rome. This will be the first Italian government since 1987 (back in the days of Bettino Craxi) to actually reflect a majority of the voters, and (as the press duly informs us) the first government since 1962 to be blasted by the industrialists’ association, Confindustria, even before it has actually taken office.
