How can a not so covert war not be going on?
This smacks of “We shall wage war by deception”. The Zionists want their “New World Order” by any and all means possible and they are willing to set the Earth afire in order to accomplish it.

PG&E is a Rothschild controlled utility, one of the main financial backers of the Zionists and a small ME nation intent on blackmailing any person of interest through Mossad and other compromised/complicit Intelligence agencies utilizing pedophilia networks.
When you have hardwired back doors into virtually every computer system on the planet, thanks to the complicity of Intel and Microsoft’s manufacturing facilities in a small ME nation, you can stir up a lot of covert cyber attacks without having to use Stuxnet.
This extends into the ongoing coup against the Executive branch here in the USSA and the desperation of the DNC to turn this nation into a socialist state complete with China’s “social credit system” which will utilize the 5G network. It may also explain why even talking about such things have become illegal in many nations.
Desperation makes an enemy even more dangerous. Especially a covert enemy waging war by deception. We have a common enemy and its not the Chinese, Russians, or even a small ME nation being used as the command center.
And whose being killed, maimed, and financially ruined?

I wonder how quickly software-based ‘industrial controllers’ are being removed from critical applications. I remember that when StuxNet was being ‘unraveled’, it was found to be remarkably modular . That meant that the code did not have to be completely re-written for a new ‘job’; only certain sub-sections needed to be swapped-out. This made it uber-dangerous if it got out to the world – as it apparently has.
On the other edge of things, it only takes a match and a grudge (or orders) to start a forest fire. The magnificent forests in the west of America are absolutely vulnerable. If there is closet warfare going-on, a “two can play that game” response may play-out in that region…

Not one to add a flashpoint to your “high octane speculations / suspicions” but there has been a cyberwar going on for some years. Nearly two decades. In one’s humble opinion, one would suggest that what seems to be covert, there are activities that suggest as much, that it is very much like “Un-restricted warfare” that is getting noticed. So far, kinetically limited.
Then there was the recent explosion and fire at the Rouen oil refinery in France. Again, just mismanagement to blame?
Security breach was mentioned but no further details, and the company is now facing lawsuits. There are also fears that carcinogenic molecules were created in the fire.
